Here's how I see it. There are two categories of console "fanboys":

Group 1: The dogs. They will bark at the slightest bit of negative feedback towards their precious system. They can dish it out, but are incapable of taking it in. (See: Skykid). It's basically the best ever, and nothing will ever have hope of coming close. (Note that consoles are not the only thing capable of having this religious hold over people. Genres can do this too, which takes us right back to "shmups R best, IDGAF 'bout no NEX GEN GAME" mentality.)

Group 2: This is the only legitimate group. They clearly see the limitations of their favorite console(s) and try to make sense of how the hardware can be utilized to the fullest in spite of this, and ponder how its manufactures can push boundaries with improvements over this hardware in the future. I have not seen any evidence of Group 1 mentalities in this thread except for yours, Skykid. I'm sure Friendly is not dumb enough to make the mistake of believing PS3, PS4, or PS1,345,246 for that matter are beyond criticism. These are purely your reactionary hallucinations.

Of course, there remain people so jaded with the state of things that they feel the need to shit all over any thread which holds the slightest semblance of hope for anything.

Actually, people bought it because it offered an excellent online experience, terrific exclusives, a surprisingly decent control pad, and games that often outperformed the PS3 cross-platform (Bayonetta et al).
Lots of people here bought it because it became this generation's host for shmups, and this is a SHMUPS FORUM where we play lots of SHMUPS. For shmup fans without the funds for PCB hardware, the 360 has been heaven sent, and that won't change no matter how much you rag on it.

Sorry to disillusion you Marc, I was not suspended for talking about things that interest me, that was because of a joke-topic about nothing. Skykid on the other hand has received multiple warnings for his bullying, which he seems to have a hard time wrapping his little head around because he never changes his old tricks. It is kind of you to rise up to defend our local troll; he certainly appears to be in desperate need of some love.
I on the other hand don't follow around people I don't like and comment on everything they write like a person with mental problems would. My creating a thread about PS4 and trying to have some friendly discussion is not pathetic. These recent posts (just two examples) on the other hand are the very definition of the word:

The point is they already know what I'm like: opinionated and up-front, perhaps, but someone who enjoys discourse, videogame or otherwise. And shmups, of course.

Is there any way to create a private thread that only a select number of people can see and post in it? Because I think a counsel between myself, Skybaby, and the mods are long overdue. Establish some order and agreement of duties in this shit heap. Or better yet, I have loved the prospect of creating my very own website and forum for some time now. That's beginning to look like a better solution everyday. But for some reason (probably naive stupidity), I have some remaining hope for this place (or rather, people on the fringes of this place, who see a problem with it, but don't quite know how to articulate or express this new found disdain.).
