Actually, this was described in some other SW novel which I have yet to read (I believe it is from a more recent SW book). Having recently re-read the Heir to the Empire trilogy in a couple years ago, I can confidently say that the only reference to Endor in those books is that Leia uses the moon as a rendezvous point for meeting with one of the Noghri assassins.
In regards to The Black Hole, I freaking LOVE that movie. When I saw a poster for that movie on the kid's wall in the Tron Legacy movie, I flipped and nearly bought one for myself. Since Hollywood is so bent on making remakes of movies, I say that they would do well to leave Back to the Future alone and remake The Black Hole instead. That would be so badass. The premise of the movie is spectacular: a space exploration vessel in search of intelligent life stumbles upon a ghost ship in deep space, on the brink of a black hole, where they meet the crazed captain who murdered his entire crew and turned them into zombie cyborgs. When they discover the truth, it's a matter of survival and escape. How is that NOT cool? It's only flawed due to a bit of the cheese factor in its production.
