So is this still on track for a mid-February release? I actually just went ahead and pre-ordered it.

Qute released a new trailer in the style of the first trailer, but with different/extended gameplay. Shows gameplay from 2 new bosses too.

I do wish we'd get footage from the harder modes though, but it's looking very good.

Can't wait - really like the visual style this game is going for. Super basic looking enemies, but in a cool way. Too bad I won't know what any of the weapons in the customization mode are called. :?

Also the new trailer plays 4 completely new BGMs compared to the other trailer. <3

The voices for the characters are good too! Can't wait to get it next month! ^w^

Probably the worst character art I have ever seen in a video game.
Bosses look cool though

I'm surprised they didn't get Namiki on board for that crew.

Hello,

Who's ordering it from amiami?, Is this price right ¥5,910 = £40.30 (About)?, How much is EMS to England?. I have never used this company but i have used Play-Asia and videogameimports. Where are you getting it from?. Thank your for any help given.

VGI £63
PA £49
AMI £40

Update: I have just found out not to use EMS/Tax. I will use SAL.

Heads up to those who preordered from play-asia back in August 2012... like me. They dropped the price by 7$ since (85->78), so make sure to cancel and reorder, as they won't apply preorder price protection like amazon.

From the looks of things (Amazon has a picture of a sound selection disc) the first print will include a special sound selection disc.

Thanks for the tip on P-A not reducing charge automatically... however, after using my P-A coupon I'm only paying a couple bucks extra and I don't want to risk not getting a first print copy. Even though I know P-A has fucked up on first print stuff before *cough* Futari *cough*.

Oh good point. Well if it's anything like Eschatos, the first print will be available for a couple months to come. I'm not worried.

Seconding the request for some amiami feedback. This would be my first purchase through them and I'm a little surprised that they accepted my pre-order without confirming any payment details from me. Will they send me a bill the day of release or something? It's weird. For all they know I have no credit card or paypal.

I need my copy ASAP for shmupmeeting! :D

Amiami will send a e-mail the very moment that they have a product or game in-stock, asking you to pay for the necessary costs plus EMS speedpost shipping. You might have to wait a few hours after paying with Paypal or credit card before the game is shipped, then it will arrive within a few days.

Famitsu scores are in: 7/7/8/8, 30 points
"The quick tempo of Eschatos is combined with a new behind-the-ship view that's inserted into some sections, providing some graphical oomph," wrote editor Atsuhiro Fujiwara. "The mid-stage dialogue is pretty exciting, and it's all fully voiced, too. I like how you can power-up your ship through repeated playthroughs. The graphics are pretty unique, though, so you'll need to like them if you want to enjoy this."

So who has the best price on Ginga Force? I was going to order at my usual importer ncsx, but it's $109.90. That seems a little high, even for an import.

I used to buy from NCSX myself, but switched to Amiami about a year ago.

The service at NCSX is impeccable and I was never taxed in any of their packages, but unfortunately they've gotten rather expensive as of late.

As I said earlier, play-asia comes to 78$ all included. That's cheaper than going through amazon.co.jp -> dv8cag.com

AmiAmi is my favorite source for importing to the US. They always beat Play-Asia on price, and have been consistent with timely shipping.

Just preordered as well and am psyched on some more Qute action!

That's the cheapest I found as well - sucks I had to cancel my preorder and reorder to get the new price. Hope I still get the LE.

Had another watch of the trailer released some time back. I'm interested to see how the weapon unlock system works in conjunction with scoring, and what the scoring system is in general. On the surface it's looking to be another no-frills straight up STG continuing in the vein of past Qute releases. If anything we know the perceived longevity of the game is increased thanks to forcing players to manually unlock equipment/weapons through playing.

Loving them colorful, blocky 3D graphics.

Well, the dedicated score attack mode has a number of prebuilt ships to score with, I assume to keep things balanced. I'm sure anything goes for story mode scoring, though.

Just a few things to note from the Ginga Force twitter page, from Google Translate and my assumption. Qute was surprised that most comments on the youtube trailers were english, and though their english is bad, they got a feeling that the trailers are well received.

They also seemed to reconfirm that "Well, thankfully it's region free for them (english speakers in the YT comments)"

There's also this picture of a size scale of the Eschatos and Ginga Force spacecrafts. https://twitter.com/gingaforce/status/2 ... 20/photo/1 Pretty neat.

Less than 4 days! *Except I'll be waiting another week for mine from P-A I'm sure*
