I played a few rail shooters in MAME w/ my flight stick I used to abuse playing Descent 3. Fun times.

Arc System's Magical Beat looks like a lot of fun.
Gouketsuji Ichizoku Matsuri Senzo Kuyou
Lupin 3 : The Shooting
Project Cerberus deserves a decent port
and Z-Gundam - AEUG Vs. Titan DX needs a better port (the PS2 version is awesome, but the arcade looks way better)

Re: Arcade ports you are still waiting for
I'd like to play Star Wars Trilogy Arcade again to see whether it was just easy or the arcade set the difficulty low. Because as soon as I found out you can increase the rate of fire by mashing both buttons on the joystick, the 1CC came quickly afterwards (because the wampas no longer slaughtered me).
Really fun game and I'm surprised it's not been given a port to earn a quick buck.

Re: Arcade ports you are still waiting for
It's quite easy but it still took me a while to get the 1cc. The final stage is tough! Also, with regards to supermodel3, only the event button and one fire button have been emulated so mashing both buttons doesn't work.TransatlanticFoe wrote:I'd like to play Star Wars Trilogy Arcade again to see whether it was just easy or the arcade set the difficulty low. The thing that keeps me playing is the scoring system. Very simple - just get consecutive hits for a multiplier bonus that goes up to ten then resets to zero. Do that as many times as possible, destroy everything and find all the hidden secrets for an extra bonus.
The only problem with it is its too short - no cloud city or asteroids.
Other arcade ports: A proper version of House of the Dead and The Lost World (which doesn't run to well in supermodel3).
Everything else is in mame...

That table flipping game.
Re: Arcade ports you are still waiting for
Actually, one that comes to mind is that when the Wii launched, I thought for sure there'd be a Police 911 port for it. No such luck. Kinect would've been a good target for that, too, paired with a lightgun.

Police 911 1 & 2- These would be great on PS3 as Move titles.
Starblade (PS3) - for Move support.
Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder - This has gone too long without a port. Fix that, Sega.
Darius Burst AC
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade- Add Move support on PS3.
Konami's Aliens- with options for Japanese and World versions.
Xexex- on something beside the PSP.
Virtua Cop 3
Rambo- A compilation wtih the 2008 arcade game, as well as Genesis Rambo III and the two SMS titles.
Gitadora- A US version, but based on one of the newer GFDM engines- either XG3 or the arcade game called "Gitadora". Extra songs and mix packs could be added via DLC. I'd like to see a few BM series songs like rottel-the-Mercury (200 BPM gabba by Shinji Hosoe), One or Eight, Destruction, and Metal Gear Solid cross over to this.
Ibara & Ibara Kuro
All Raizing/8ing shooters (Still, throw in Garegga and Mahou Daisakusen so they're obtainable)

Oh, I forgot to mention this, Lethal Enforcers 3 by Konami. If Razing Storm could get a port into PS3, I don't see why most rail and light gun shooters can't.
This is my signature. It's so unique, nobody else has it.

Re: Arcade ports you are still waiting for
Most of the Model 3 games didn't get ports. I'm pretty sure the only reason VOOT got ported is because they were moving to Naomi anyway, and from there that's a no-effort-required port to DC. Would certainly explain why there was no port of effing Daytona 2, aaaaaaa.TransatlanticFoe wrote:I'd like to play Star Wars Trilogy Arcade again to see whether it was just easy or the arcade set the difficulty low. ideally, every good Sega arcade game that doesn't have a port would have one, and Sega might actually be fairly likely to port some of these things
extremely ideally, every good arcade game that doesn't have a port would have one, but that sure as hell won't happen
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Re: Arcade ports you are still waiting for
R-360? I've watched a video of it, but never have come across one. There's a wide fence around one to keep spectators from getting too close to the machine when it's going. I've heard it was expensive, usually $5 a play. It has a panic button for anyone who feels sick. Some people have been afraid to go on it after seeing how wildly it moves, according to System 16. It sold for maybe about 5x the price of the DX After Burner cab- about $90-100K.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:Ah yes, the ol' Sega Star Wars Arcade deluxe sit-down styled cab is still up & running at my local Funworks...takes arcade tokens to credit it up as the "gold choice" these days.
Not mention it has a Sega deluxe SD motion-based G-LOC cab as well for the classic arcade game purists like myself -- that's one you don't see anymore these days as it's a relic from a long ago era known as the "Silver Age of Arcades" lore. It certainly takes up some valuable real estate flooring space just to be properly set up (is one cab that still hasn't been properly shown at any of the past California Extreme shows either).

Wii balance board versions of Ollie King/TopSkater/Soul Surfer all the Sega 'board' games on one disc.

No multiplayer for one. (edit, I think only limited to 2 player, not 4) May have some technical hindrances as well, but I'm not sure about that.Specineff wrote:What's wrong with the JP Saturn version?opt2not wrote:Speaking of the best Beat-em-upI'd like to see a proper port of The Punisher, and D&D: Shadow over Mystara.

Ha ha, we played that yesterday. Wouldn't make much of a port tbh, it's only got three scenarios and all you do is bang the table a few times and flip it hard as you can. The slo-mo carnage is funny as shit though, and certainly stress relieving.MOSQUITO FIGHTER wrote:That table flipping game.

I would love homeports of:
Air Gallet (Gazelle/Banpresto 1996)
Battle Circuit (Capcom 1997)
Bonk's Adventure (Kaneko 1994)
JJ Squakers (Athena 1993)
Jurassic Park - Lost World (Sega 1997)
But I highly doubt one of them will happen

there's one game I wait for on console...
Spica Adventure
it's a platformer game on Taito type x ... I've seen videos of the game and I considered to get into arcade gaming just to play this game!!
I also like to play Planet Harriers.. I only played this one time and the controls were rubbish so I was not able to truly enjoy ..

Planet Harrier
Boogie Wings
Would'nt mind a HD port of the latter. Usually I don't like HD versions of older games, but with all the small characters and details I think it would look quite nice.

Awesome. Yeah, I'd love the Cannon Dancer music.
It's a great injustice that these games are so obscure.

Re: Arcade ports you are still waiting for
They really are terribly obscure, but I'd take a guess that it's mostly because of the companies that made them. Mitchell is basically known for porn and shit, and NMK is one of those developers you just never hear about at all.
Anyways, here's the OST; it's in untagged WAV files, but you can probably convert them. http://dodonpachi.daifukkat.su/black.la ... an_ost.zip
