Running/Jogging Mix (track ideas)

Post by DJ Incompetent »

I've gotten a little bored of the podcasts I use for jogging. It is hard to find alternatives that are worthy fits because of the constant BPM issue.

'Thinking of putting together my own little mix as a sidearm. I don't really have a pulse on newer music anymore, so I thought I'd collect track suggestions that keep a beat for the most part. 'Bounce ideas off the forum 'n such. I'll settle for an overarching BPM later.

Game Music Jogging Mix Brainstormin':

Stab & Stomp - Garegga
Bowser's Road / Road to Koopa - Mario&Sonic Olympic Games Ver)
The Dark Colossus Destroys All - Nier
Wily's Castle (or okkusenman) - Megaman 2
Flight - Xenogears
Stage 2 Base Boss (remix or cover) - Contra
BigCore - Gradius V
The Darkness Nova - Legend of Mana
Wangan Midnight 3
Ayako Saso covers

Commercial Music Jogging Mix Brainstormin':

Mad Rad - The Machine
Parov Stelar - Catgroove (remix)
Spacer - The Beamer
Madeon - Icarus (Fred V & Grafix Remix)
Rammstein - Links 2 3 4
Fenix TX - Something Bad Is Gonna Happen
Jurassic 5 - Swing Set
Lectrolux - The House Is Surrounded
The Herbaliser & Latyrx - 8pt Agenda
Oli G & Sharkey - Sci Fi
Pendulum - Slam
Samuelzone & Airforce - Source of Calm
Lionrock - Fire up the Shoesaw
Passalacqua - Sunset City
Marek Biliński - Ucieczka Z Tropiku
Mondo Grosso - Shinin'
Shinichi Osawa - Star Guitar

I always kicked the idea around of creating my own Couch to 5K program mix, because "runner culture" just rubs me the every wrong way. We'll see where this thread goes...

Thanks for any help. Take these podcasts that I use:
Podrunner (strict BPM regulation)
iClub: Mashed (Mashups at the club)
Masters of Hardcore (Angry Gabber)

I have a lot of mixes I've made if you like groovy tech house.
Only one is up right now though

official.fm/gp

This one is 120BPM. Some of my older ones go as high as 127 BPM.
I find this range of tunes suitable to jog to.

You gotta post more of these, I <3 this set so much and I've been heavily digging on tech and deep house for years now.

Aight... I will.
My older ones are substantially housier. Less techy.
Will probably make another one soon though. I have a lot of tracks that are sitting there doing dick.

I have an older one you might like. Uploading to soundcloud now.

I just use the first Front 242 compilation or Daft Punk's Alive 1997... or I mean, I used to work out to those. Any kind of exercise would kill me now 8)

Touch Klaus
92 minutes of love.

While we're at it. Many of the Robot Heart mixes are great. Sometimes a bit more chilled than one would want for exercise, but amazing nonetheless. Finally, Lee Burridge has made available for stream, his Legendary Robot Heart 2011 Set. Once it hit's 30,000 plays it will be available for download. His even more legendary 2012 set will get the same treatment later he says. Here is an excerpt from said set, at Sunrise. Here is a less goosebump inducing moment (much shorter, too), but is a much better encapsulation of what Burning Man can feel like.

I'm not into running/jogging, but I walk a lot and when I'm in a hurry, The Story So Far by Divine works best. Apparently it's well-liked by DJs.

For the Game Music one, I recommend Speeder from Metal Slug 5. Pretty heavy one, has a good rhythm.
This is my signature. It's so unique, nobody else has it.

For some reason Moombahton tracks, firmly set at 110 bpm, really get me pumped up for jogging. Some day I should make a mix with nothing but shit like this:
