X68000

I have the opportunity to get a X68000 Pro w/ monitor for $200, plus another $183 for UPS shipping. Should I do this? I always wanted an X68000, but is it really worth it?

For it's time, I think it was pretty amazing (true arcade quality on your home PC), but with all the systems since then, do you really need an arcade perfect ports of GnG, Strider, Final Fight, etc.?

You realize that, even among us, there may be only a few people that can offer a direct experience with the system. Blue Lander is one.

However, I'm with undamned. X68k is known in the west mostly for its arcade perfect ports, that nowadays have lost their appeal. You should be Japanese to really get into its obscure releases, and those are probably rpg, strategic games and such.

However, the X68000 is a very sexy computer. It looks awesome, so if you have enough space, why not. It makes a great show.

(assuming of course that all those money aren't a problem for you. Heck with all these pcbs collectors around, I guess it's becoming normal to see people invest all this cash).

Yea, I think I'm passing it up. I really want one, but I was telling Undamned last week, I got too much as is. I need to sell some stuff off instead of buying. Thanks for the input.
