Wow what a great response! Thanks for the welcoming :D

So yeah as Op Intesify and KidQuaalude mentioned we are a publisher and we are trying a few different kinds of shmups hence Under Defeat coming up and a few Cave titles in the past and you're right in the sense that we don't have a lot of control over the development. However! The feedback about your likes and dislikes are still very relevant and the more I get to know the community, the better decisions we can make in the future when looking for titles to publish so thank you BobbyNewmarkiii, you're certainly a man (or woman) who knows what he/she wants :D

Concerning publishing specific titles, we have a fairly busy schedule ahead of us of games we need to get out so adding something to that list isn't going to be realistic in the short term. But still I want to check out some of the classics that you can recommend and who knows what will happen in the future. (....just watched a vid of Saidaioujou... damn that game looks sweet).

@chempop Not put off at all :) Seems like a cool community. Especially when compared to the likes of many gaming communities out there. Not going to point any fingers :D
@BulletMagnet I'll see if I can get that confirmed Under Defeat release date in the office tomorrow for you
@foxyg the chance of securing a publishing deal on the 360 in NA is looking unlikely from what I have heard. I will try to find out the reasoning behind this for you also.

Bloody heck it got late quick...
G'night guys
-Samuel.

PS. BobbyNewmarkiii I was playing Under Defeat HD: DE tonight. Would it be outrageous to say I kinda like the dual stick controls? I'm sorry!

From the few times I've played it, Under Defeat seemed kinda cool. It looks so pretty. The aiming system is weird though.

Mushi HD or DDP Saidaioujou coming overseas would be amazing.

Mushi Futari being region free and DDP Daifukkatsu being released in the EU but also region unlocked for the US gives both of these series some traction in the west. Just throwing that out there.

What he said. Both if possible! I'd totally by both.

That's a shame, but I'll buy the PS3 version regardless. For those with only 360s, hopefully the PAL 360 version will be dual-region.

Not at all, New Order was specifically designed for them. It's the reason to buy UDHD, since Arcade Mode has some inaccuracies to the arcade/DC version even with the most recent patch.

Is your address still as listed in the Akai Katana manual?

I had to mail my copy in to redeem the warranty, but it seems to have disappeared into the ether.

Ketsui plz. Or better yet, DFK BL Arrange (Ketsuipachi) plz. We got Dodonpachi Resurrection Black Label but missed out on the Ketsuipachi Arrange. not that it'll ever happen as ketsui probably wouldn't make a profit unless it was xbla release

Mushi HD + SDOJ would also be instant buys. Akai Katana full voice DLC might be nice too (the full voices seem to be in the tutorial, strangely). Or even Akai Katana Red Mode DLC.

If your company has interest in the 3DS market I would be interested in G.Rev's latest shooting game/card game hybird Kokuga. I can see a physical or digital release of this game in English for the US/European market.

That'd be great; as someone else here has noted one place has it listed as 10-26, though either way I'm waiting for Gamestop to put it in their system so I can plunk down for it.

I would die a happy man if this came to pass no matter how unlikely it would get licensed.

Also it's nice to have another guy from RSG joining us here. Definitely glad to have ya aboard.

A 16:9 version is doable and it even contains a shmup-o stage 8)
The future is 2D

Welcome Samuel, really great to have some RSG members here on the board.

I'd second SaiDaiOuJou and Ketsui/Ketsuipachi. PAL-land needs help

Pal Raiden Fighters Aces since no other Publisher has been able to finish the job.

I myself have no interest as I have the Japanese and USA versions but our buddies in europe would sure love that someone would stop messing with their emotions and publish the game in that region!
A Hardcore gamers reaction to the Lack of Kinect games. Apparently i could of played Dodonpachi with it if i beat a entirely in Japanese Visual Novel piece of shit game called Instant Brain

It has a story behind it that would play well in the videogame media if RSG did license it.

Good day from the UK,

Hey guys, not a huge amount to report. Under Defeat HD Deluxe Edition does not currently have a confirmed date to be released in the US. Having been at the company just a short time I've already learnt tons about how much stuff there is to pass and the rings that have to be jumped through to get something out into the market. We are hoping for early November at this point given things go smoothly. It's not that I can't tell you guys yet, its purely because we just don't know. I've been told it won't be long before we can actually nail a date for you though so I'll keep ya posted.

The lack of an Xbox 360 release of this title in North America is due to restrictions we face as a relatively small publisher shipping titles across the world. Unfortunately it just isn't within our means to release Under Defeat HD Deluxe Edition on two separate platforms. However we are pleased to be able to bring to bring at least one version out for you :) Apologies for the inconvenience.

Anyway, enough doom and gloom! Its friday!!! (do not be mistaken, i'm not a rebecca black fan....)

@Remembrance, I'm not sure which address that may be but to dispel any confusion our current address is:
Rising Star Games, Level 1 Block A, Latchmore Count, Brand Street, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG5 1HX.
I believe we had offices located near Hitchin before a couple of years ago but have since upgraded. What was the issue with your copy and who had you contacted?
@RealPlumpBox, you betcha UD-HD-DE is coming to US! just on the PS3 though
@Domino personally I think the 3DS is great and would be interested to see a shmups title or two also
@Op Intensify, thanks! i will play dual stick config guilt free from now on :)
@To Far Away Times, Under Defeat is great fun. Thanks for the suggestions, i'll be sure to check out Mushi too.

The weekend draws closer! May endless bullets be with you all.

I may have missed this in another thread, but will the Pal 360 version of UD-HD be region free? I've already pre-ordered for the PS3, but would support the cause with a Pal 360 version if I can at least run it without needing a 3rd 360!

@98PaceCar, unfortunately not, is the answer to that. It ties into the same reasons we cannot get the 360 into NA :(

That's disappointing to hear, but I certainly understand. Thanks for the clarification and keep bringing out what you can!

That is unfortunate. I was hoping UD could have a region situation similar to DDP:R.

Oh well. That means I will not be buying UD. Hopefully you guys will release something I can play and am interested in some other time.

Thanks for the information.

Hello Samuel,

It's good to know RSG is still taking a keen interest in us hardcore smup fans.
RSG has already made me a happy man with their excellent Cave PAL releases thus far. :D

I'd be even happier if you managed to get these two beauties added to RSG' release schedule ASAP.

1. DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou
2. Mushihimesama HD

I enjoy playing the big blockbuster AAA titles, but you can't beat the adrenalin rush you get from a good scoring run on a manic 2D shooter. So don't let us smup fans down Samuel, we're counting on you, and the rest of the RSG team.

Let's be realistic here. Cave has an apparently not-so-pleasant track record with foreign publishers. I'd be surprised if any RSG employee would ever want to hear their name again.

Thirding Kokuga. I'd think you've already been looking into that, considering you're already working with G.Rev for Under Defeat. I also think Kokuga may have broader appeal than the Cave style of shmup.

If that's true, that's a shame because SaiDaiOuJou is basically the only professionally developed shmup game I still care about getting.

OH WELL LOL

I'm interested in seeing Mushihimesama HD come out to US/EU more than SaiDaiOuJou. But I want to see both.

Have no clue about whether Instant Brain is any good, or if it requires Kinect or not. But it could be nice to have too, but I'd rather have the others first.
