Fall 2012 MD/VA/DC Shmupmeet

So guys, that time is nearly upon us again. Sadly, it seems we won't have Ginga Force to try out... but I do have a copy of Game Tengoku on the way. Anyway, since Minzoku and I are going to SPX on Sept 15, I figured we'd hold it the week before, so Sept 8th. If that works for everyone, let us know, otherwise we may have to do it closer to the end of the month.

Also, Minzoku and I have already registered for Magfest. Who else plans on attending (we're going to be there Friday, Saturday and some of Sunday)?

Early in Sept is better for me. Want to go to Magfest this year, will have to see how things are working around then though. After Otakon I could really stand to go to a good convention ...

For food, I'm recommending either La Canela (Peruvian Fine dining, might want a reservation, little on the pricey side) ... or Joe's Noodle House (another Sichuan place) ... There's also Bob's Noodle 66 (Taiwanese I think?), or Eastern Pearl (Cantonese). Or we can say "fuck it" and go to Pizza CS! Oh ... I guess there stands a chance of American Tap House being open by then. And I guess Burger Joint is open now isn't it?

Has anyone been to Azuma Izakaya yet? It's gotten such heavily mixed reviews I just haven't had the nerve to go try it out myself yet.

From where I'm sitting right now early in Sept. looks ok, but I'll have to keep an eye on it and let you know if anything comes up. Already going to have to miss 2 weeks of STGT in August (god I hope one of them is Cave week)

Magfest for next year is still very much in gotta-wait-and-see territory

September 8 is looking clear for me so far.

I've heard Bob's Noodle 66 has recently changed head chefs and the food has taken a turn for the worse. Will have to look into that a bit more. Haven't tried Azuma Izakaya yet.

If we're drifting toward Taiwanese there's always Michael's Noodles on Darnestown and Travilah. Only a tiny bit farther than the hibachi place we went last time.

I'm tempted to go to MagFest. Never been, so I'm a bit hesitant to go. Too bad I've got a portfolio review and Baltimore ComiCon (same weekend><;;; ), otherwise I'd see if a forum-n00b like me could join you guys at a meet:(:(

MAGFest is the single can't miss event I attend every year, above PAX East, New York Comic Con, and Otakon. If you like video games, you can't possibly go wrong.
