Cheap Gaia Seed (PSX) [sold]

Post by Ceph »

Anyone looking for the rarest PSX shooter (besides Zanac X Zanac)?
While searching ebay for shmups I discovered this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 8221120053

Gaia Seed is uber-rare, and the price is pretty low.

(This is not my auction!)

Great find. Pretty low indeed, at least for being introduced on Ebay. The seller seems a bit overpriced on everything else though.

It's a nice 2D sidescroller. Pretty, hand drawn graphics, looks very 16bit-ish. Nothing flashy. Good music (ambient techno). Not very difficult (your ship features a recharging shield). Hilarious engrish intro, read by a Japanese speaker without any prior knowledge of English - you'll have to switch to Japanese with English subs to actually understand it (partly). Not a bad game, but nothing revolutionary. I'd probably rate it 7/10

It's gone already. Did someone here buy it?

Yup. Thanks, Ceph. Even though I REALLY shouldn't be spending the money, I don't want to regret later that I didn't get it.

Good choice. On ebay Gaia Seed surfaces only every 2 months or so, and never that cheap. 3 months ago there was an auction for mint copy with spine, starting price $150 and a bidding war broke out - it sold for $320 (which is crazy). I was really lucky to score the next copy that came up (mint) for $70, but only because the seller misspelled the name as "Gai Seed" (found it by pure chance when looking at the list of the seller's auctions) and there was only one other bidder. ;-)

If you don't like it you can always auction it off again; you'll most likely get more than what you paid for it.

DAMN! And I am looking for this game. Well if you wish to sell I am very interested and will pay a decent amount for it too.

The seller "rxmdx" always has great deals if you follow his stuff.
