I'm not willing to pay that much, but I'm certainly willing to pay more for a copy of anything with a spine card as long as the price is fair. It's just part of collecting.

I know some people love these. Record collectros also dig those obi thingies and they gasp when I tell them I used to throw those away. My response to their reaction is "it's just a piece of f****** paper" and shrug 8)

Although I genuinely respect the seller, I'm not posting this to mock him, but rather to mock how badly people want this game..

I dont think ANY game is worth 4600 euros.. I dont care how rare it is.

I'm scared of what it'll be like when I get to that level of collecting.

The trick is to avoid the AES like a burrito with a dismembered cock sticking out of it. ;] A cock burrito that can't even play Shock Troopers out of the box.

It's only insane because they're all fake. Terranigma NTSC-U? C'mon, at least try to look legit.

Oh wow. Are you sure that everything is fake? Secret of Mana 2 and Terranigma obviously are repros, but all the rest? If those are repros, too, then now is a good time to stop buying SNES games on ebay.

EDIT: And what the heck is going on with those prices? For instance, I paid about ~$150 USD for Earthbound 5 years ago, and I thought that was expensive.

thats why im glad I got out of collecting for popular systems (snes, nes). with shit like AVGN driving tons of people to start collecting, the prices for these games are starting to skyrocket. I decided to be a smartass and put my copy of Action 52 up for auction right after AVGN made his video on action 52. previous auctions ended ~$50. mine ended up selling for $210.

I like collecting arcade stuff because when they're rare, they're actually rare. not some douchebag on ebay labelling Contra for NES AS RARE!!!!! OMG BUY IT NOW!

That shit really tweaks me the wrong way. Especially when I once came across a Mario/Duck Hunt marked as RARE!!!1!

Yeah, I've kinda halted on my NES/SNES/Genesis collection anymore. Shit is getting way out of hand. Everything has gone up astronomically in the past year. Got Demon's Crest for 8 bucks, which was pretty common a few years back. Now it's 50+. Same for everything. Lufia, Wild Guns, Super Metroid, Hagane, etc.

Hagane was only sold through Blockbuster in the US, so its price is understandable.

But I remember buying my Super Metroid cart for $10 about five years ago. Shit ain't happening anymore. My SNES/Genesis collections have pretty much come to a standstill.

I've noticed that game prices also go up whenever HG101 does an article on them. Glad I snagged Skygunner right before they put that page up.

Its shit like that which ruined nes/snes collecting for me..

oh well, hopefully it dies down in the next few years. In the mean time, I'm just gonna keep selling my nes/snes games to make a killer profit :D

Yeah, overall it's not too bad ... the worst part is the "hand painted" blue cart. It really would not have been very difficult to spray paint it with some Plastikote or Krylon Fusion or similar, and the results would have been far better.

This is definitely what I would call ... [air quotes][sarcasm] unique [/sarcasm][/air quotes]
