If people want to pay more for a worthless piece of paper, then by all means

I'm not willing to pay that much, but I'm certainly willing to pay more for a copy of anything with a spine card as long as the price is fair. It's just part of collecting.

I know some people love these. Record collectros also dig those obi thingies and they gasp when I tell them I used to throw those away. My response to their reaction is "it's just a piece of f****** paper" and shrug

thats why im glad I got out of collecting for popular systems (snes, nes). with shit like AVGN driving tons of people to start collecting, the prices for these games are starting to skyrocket. I decided to be a smartass and put my copy of Action 52 up for auction right after AVGN made his video on action 52. previous auctions ended ~$50. mine ended up selling for $210.

Yeah, I've kinda halted on my NES/SNES/Genesis collection anymore. Shit is getting way out of hand. Everything has gone up astronomically in the past year. Got Demon's Crest for 8 bucks, which was pretty common a few years back. Now it's 50+. Same for everything. Lufia, Wild Guns, Super Metroid, Hagane, etc.

Hagane was only sold through Blockbuster in the US, so its price is understandable.

But I remember buying my Super Metroid cart for $10 about five years ago. Shit ain't happening anymore. My SNES/Genesis collections have pretty much come to a standstill.

I've noticed that game prices also go up whenever HG101 does an article on them. Glad I snagged Skygunner right before they put that page up.

Yeah, overall it's not too bad ... the worst part is the "hand painted" blue cart. It really would not have been very difficult to spray paint it with some Plastikote or Krylon Fusion or similar, and the results would have been far better.
