Wasshoi + Tougeki

Post by adversity1 »

This year's Tougeki (biggest major Japanese fighting game tournament) will be combined with Wasshoi, the shooting event that has featured live superplays by Kamui, SWY, Clover-TAC and many more.

Update: TIME-TABLES ADDED BELOW. Please check so you don't miss anything.

Time tables for musicians and the extra stage can be confirmed here:
http://www.tougeki.com/fes_timetable

OFFICIAL SITE IS OPEN: http://www.tougeki.com/

Schedule revised below:

Location:

Friendly Park Narita city, Chiba

How to get there: Ride the train to Narita station
There is a bus leaving every 10 minutes to the venue at the EAST exit of the station.

If there's too much of a line-up for the buses, there is also another train that goes to a station called Namegawa (滑河駅) which is closer to the venue. However this train leaves only once every 30 minutes, so unless you can ride one according to the schedule below you might be better waiting for the bus:

http://www.tougeki.com/fes_access

Dates: August 4th and 5th

Places to stay: Not much around the spot apparently. Closest is this campground:

http://www.yumebokujo.com/camp.html

One night is 1800 yen. Tents are on rent for 5000 yen. Sleeping bags for 700 yen and mats for 500 yen.

Have there been releases of the past events? I seem to remember a few short vids floating around, but I didn't know if there was anything more.

All available info added to the op.

Would be nice to see some international shooters out at this event. I will try to bring Prometheus along since he'll be in town.

I hope they go back to DVDs.

They have been trying different things lately. (magazine pack-in's, stream) but I think DVD is still the best option.

Pretty sure there will not be a live stream.

DVDs later on is a possibility, but there's nothing announced.

The music sub event is called GAME SOUND IMPACT 2012, I'm really curious about that.
K.H.D.N. will be playing together again (they supposedly split up last year), and it will be LivestStrow (Basiscape Band) debut.

We actually have such an event every year in Rennes, France, which used to also serve as a qualifier for Tougeki. I'm sure it's much smaller than the Japanese equivalent, but it was always quite big (something between 500 and 2000 attendees I would say ?), absolutely excellent, independent (run by associations and voluntaries), and cheap. Really love that event. It's called Stunfest.

So they're back together again? Is there hope for more amazing video game music from them yet? Too bad there won't be any MileStone shooters there.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Bumpa bumpa.

Will be there.
Somebody (that is; not me) should put some kind of list together of all the farmers attending so one knows who to look for.
I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else but will there be some kind of competition for all of us regular mortals or just the superplay-on-stage thingy?

Thanks for the schedule. I'll be attending Saturday. I'm carrying a black backpack, wearing blue shorts and a striped T-shirt (white and grey), if anyone feels like patting me on the back and say hello.

I'm pretty sure it was stage 6 Demon Yamanaka lost his game in. He later died a bunch more, whereupon the crowd started running towards him and the stage to give him more 50 yen coins. Pretty hilarious and everyone were laughing. When fighting Glow Squid he also continued several times and finally changed his ship to Chitta before delivering the final blow. He couldn't even enter the scoreboard afterwards. :)

Another bizarre thing that hasn't been mentioned yet was the Tower of Druaga time attack, with two players (each with a cabinet and a Druaga board of their own) trying to reach the end of the game before the other one did. Boring to watch, but the idea alone made me laugh.

Damn, all the way to Stage 6? Thought it happened much earlier. Anyways I totally missed the antics at the end, that sounds hilarious!

Did you see Kamui's Garegga run on Sunday?
