Attack waves are now finished on game. Need to work through final issues, tasks and balancing before release to Beta.

"Starfire - Ares Assault" is now released (and FREE)!
I'll start a new thread for this as well, now that the name is finalised.

You can download it from here:
http://www.suisoft.co.uk/starfire/index.htm

The main games page is here:
http://www.suisoft.co.uk/games/index.htm

Don't forget to use the secondary weapon on the bosses. There are a couple of tips on the web page.

Enjoy and please pass on or follow me on Twitter / Facebook.

The website is pretty basic at the moment. It needs more work to add screenshots, videos, artwork etc.

Thanks. Glad you enjoy it!

I will be releasing an update at some point, primarily to solve performance isses on some machines. There will also be some bonus content for folks who join the mailing list. Hope to get it out later this year.

I had some reports of screwed up fonts on the menus. Anyone encountered this? If you have, a screenshot would be great.

I'm currently getting that menu problem. I'm on a crappy Fujitsu laptop with a Vista install on it, I'd have to play with compatibility settings to see if it fixes it (edit, just did, compatibility tweaking doesn't seem to do anything) but I've just installed it.

Note that not all of the text is garbled. The text informing you to enter the email is fine, as is the error text if you try to click OK with a blank pilot name/email address. The pilot list's <empty slot> are visible fine too, but it seems the actual menu options themselves are what's garbled.

Also, any time I click the quit button in-game to exit, the game actually crashes displaying a Starfire Has Stopped Working message. Probably not related to the menu issue.

Thanks for that. Much appreciated.

Would you be able to drop me an email, so that we can dig a bit deeper into the crash bug?
