Otomedius G (Gorgeous Mode) and Excellent might as well be marathon games. I think someone calculated that Excellent would take over 30 hours to fully clear, even longer if you've bought all the EX stages. Your 360 would RROD before you finished!

Kill enemies without using special weapons for multiplier.
Collect medals before they drift off screen to boost value.
To add to this, you are given a significant end-stage bonus based on how much time you spend at A, B, and C rank. As a source of points it's probably as significant as high multiplier + high medal value, but rank is easier to build and harder to lose.

Does this mean that they do not infinitely loop? How many does each have in total?

Excellent has 99 loops. I don't know about Gorgeous.

Any idea what it actually says when you finish the 99th loop? It would be easy to find out by skipping to it in Multiplay. I imagine it just abruptly gives you the game over screen, but I wish there was some "your appellation's technical monkey" style message.

I have no idea!</meet the medic>

All I know is the bonus art for Otomedius X contained a joke about Esmeralda being the first character to receive a 99 loop play. (Makes sense, she was completely and utterly broken in Otomedius G)
