He said 'losers', which is about right if you've ever seen the majority of attendees at a comic-con, especially since they're mostly weeaboos these days.
Actually, he went on to say Comicon attendees are "winners compared to bronies" 8)

It's a cartoon for hipster babies. I dig it - it sometimes features some minimal synth stuff reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite. I also like the voice of "Jake, The Dog" who also voices "Bender, The Robot" in Futurama 8)

It is written with the same sense of overwrought self-awareness that Juno was written, but I think it works in a kids' cartoon format since the intended audience is kids, not adults. Hence, it doesn't come off as a pandering insult 8)

Any good way to check it out?

Hell, I'd watch a good pony episode just to say I'd done it. Not putting on any pony suits or something, just saying I'd watch an episode. You know, being an informed individual and all.

Well, if you really would, I'd recommend "It's About Time" or "Lesson Zero". A simple Youtube search'll bring them up.

Party Of One is one of the best episodes, too.

As for Adventure Time, anything with Marceline.

I can also recommend:

Feeling Pinkie Keen

Hearth's Warming Eve
Read It and Weep
Putting Your Hoof Down

There are other good ones, but they require a better understanding of the characters to enjoy.

I just watched a compilation of moments--probably spoiled the whole series.

If you are roughly dismissive of Adventure Time and then start watching MLP, I might cry.

I don't know if this is aimed at me, but I want to see more Adventure Time and I saw one MLP episode and am probably done (even though Netflix thinks it should be my favorite shit.)

No, you are done. :)
There's nothing wrong with MLP in terms of production, and there's equally nothing special in it outside of its target age range. I sat through 2 episodes and 1 with someone else, and there's absolutely nothing in it to come back to. Bronyism is an attraction based around a collective fandom, not the show.

I usually recommend anyone trying out a new show give it a few episodes just to see if one catches their fancy, but whatever. You seemed to go in with at least a semi open mind and it ended up not being your thing. That is perfectly fine. Not everyone has the same tastes. At least you're not trying to justify people liking it as some sort of mental dependence issue because it doesn't fit your egomaniacal world view.

Why is a theory that opposes your own perception egomaniacal? I could flip-reverse that shit on you.
Other Bronies in this thread gave it time and suggested it may have credibility, while you're hardline on its zero validity.

Stern just ran with the 'fucking retarded losers living with their parents' line, as would most others, at least had a stab at plausible reasoning.

Because Skykid, this is the same argument you make every time someone disagrees with you. Be it the concept of scoring in DDP DOJ, Hitler's Sanity, a Movie's quality. You always go for the view that other people are automatically wrong or or there is something not right with them, rather then they just have different tastes than you. You also seem to have a real problem with creating threads to boast you own ego. Such as your Asian film thread or even the gaming girls thread. I'm confident I'm not the only person on here to have noticed this.

Now let's look at your two most recent statements:
Skykid wrote:I sat through 2 episodes and 1 with someone else, and there's absolutely nothing in it to come back to.
Nothing for you to come back to, maybe, but you're taking the stance yet again that because you don't like it, therefore no one must like it and there must be nothing there for anyone. That's being egomaniacal.
Skykid wrote:Bronyism is an attraction based around a collective fandom, not the show.
Again, you're painting an entire group with a single brush and that, like all grand sweeping statements, never has real credibility. Do I dispute that some people who identify themselves as Bronies don't watch the show and only care for the fandom? Of course not. There's people like that in every fandom, be it Adventure Time or shmups. But what I do dispute is your assertion that this is representative of the entire fandom which is patently not true. I can say this with confidence because I am a Brony and I care about the show. That automatically disproves your theory that the attraction is based solely around collective fandom, not the show. And I'm quite confident that the same can be said for other Bronies on this forum.

I watched MLP until episode 10 when it was starting just because a friend watched it and recomended it to me. I ended up getting really away from the series and the fandom for 3 reasons.

- The fandom is quite scary and full of furries. Their jokes and slang doesn't suit what I can call as "acceptable" even from an otaku perspective.

- The storyline was quite bland and bored me most of the time.

- And finally, the most important reason: It's an USA anime (should I say that most of the times they completely suck creating something anime-inspired?), with almost all of the distasteful memes and characterisations that japan has created. I loathe this kind of shameless copy. Add to it that I'm not a native english speaker so I really dislike english dubs as an extra.
