[DEADLINE EXCUSE]Sorry chaps - I was totally off the radar last week thanks to deadline[/DEADLINE EXCUSE].

Strange, I've never had a problem with that MVS cart; beyond having to blow in it one in a blue moon!

I'm not sure if I'm in Tuesday or Thursday this week, but I'll be in!

And I Tweeted Smraedis; he's interested in being in our team! Time to finalise everything and register (bet that's already been done now I say 'shall we do it?'!).

Prehistoric Isle 2 isn't installed because according to the engineer "that board is shit". (Has anyone told spadgy yet?)
Shiki isn't installed because I don't know (haven't been down much recently).
Huh, I see. Oh well, Mushi's still fun. :)

Had an excellent time on Tuesday, chatting with everyone and chowing down on Hershey's Pieces, which we all seem to be fond of.
Will be down again this evening for more R-Type Leo: I have a semi-reliable method for Stage 5 now, but the boss is a real beast.

I had planned to learn stage 4 of Leo in mame but I forgot so I'm hoping the gods of the coin chute will bless us with 12 credits again tonight.

Ha ha, is that what a pound gets you these days?

Nice to hear of your Leo progress chaps. Which one is stage 4, is that the one with the contracting cave ceilings? I hate that one.

I had a dream about Spadgy last night. We were at a party and someone spilled something on his new trainers and ruined them a little, and Spadgy was adamant that they had to fly all the way to LA, plane ticket and all, to buy him a replacement pair. He was very upset and resolute about the whole thing.

That's the one, and it wouldn't be so bad if there weren't giant stalactites to deal with as well! Very much enjoying the game though, definitely my favourite R-Type so far.

My favourite R-Type too. I happened to pass Casino on Saturday and took in some credits. I still can't crack a section of stage four I've never passed (JDE knows the bit. 'Stay at the top').

As for your dream Skykid, considering it was something from your own loin that got spilled (and an considering the volume spilled), I think my demands were quite reasonable.

And what's this about Hershey's Pieces? Wasn't I there on Tuesday? I never saw (or tasted) such a thing!

I'm almost certainly coming down on Tuesday, with an escort of Sapz and Dan. :P Is anyone else down there? (I probably won't be able to entertain you with atrocious playing though, the shame)

Alas, I'm at the Develop in Brighton conference all week, so there'll be no spadgy at Casino this week.

I'll be there on Tuesday, will probably be a little later than normal as I've got some stuff to trade/buy at CeX beforehand.

Kaede: Yeah, progear's still there. I think the list on the OP is up to date.

Kaede! Good to see you here again (Kaede's the man – along with MulletGeezer – that taught me to play Progear at Casino). It would be great to see you down Casino soon.

Shall we do Tuesday this week chaps?

Moving on to something entirely different...

I was just replying to the PM about film night/shmup Olympics, and then I thought I may as well post it here.

I vote we do an actual sports day style Olympics with a shmup flavour down a local park, rather than one inside with screens..

Suggested events:
Faulty PCB discus
Balltop and spoon race
Sony PVM 'clean and jerk' weightlift
Antistatic bag sack race
Hit-boxing

As to how hit-boxing would work (normal boxing with tiny gloves smaller than our hands?). I'm open to suggestions on that, and most importantly, other events. How bullet dodging, chaining, and any game titles could be incorporated into Olympic/sports day events, I don't know.

I expect this event to entirely remain fictional, but would love to see some element of it become a reality!

I'm up for it if I get to fight you in the hitboxing event. There are 3 (small) parks all within ~1min walk from me if you really want to do something/can convince the others...

Also yes Tuesday for me.

edit: oh if I can find the key there's a garden out back at mine as well

It looks like you're running this place now, Spadgy ;) . I might pop in on Tuesday evening, the current selection of games is great.

I'll be down in London between the 3rd and the 5th, as I'll be at the Olympic athletics events on the Saturday night, will most likely be going out all Friday, as I want to see the Olympics on the Sunday too.

A wild RUPERT appeared!
Good to see you.

If we're going to do a summer/Olympic meet someone should start trying to organise it... and if it's going to be at someone's who actually has gaming stuff rather than at mine then that person should not be me. JUST SAYING.
