I've heard it's only while playing as Chris, but that's still a gigantic turn-off.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I saw them moving while shooting while playing as Leon.

Escalators that are turned off going upor broken but the one going down is still rolling. Wouldn't it be better to have the one that works going up and let the people walk down the other one?
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I don't know if I find it annoying or pathetic, but sometimes I have people come up to me and ask if I am Native American. Once I tell them, "Yes, I am a Native American of sorts," it dawns on them they asked an obvious question. But that's not the annoying thing, they usually state that they're 1/8, 1/16, or whatever "native american" too - "Cherokee," usually. For a microsecond, I get this weirded out, baffled expression on my face because these people look white to me; there is nothing "Cherokee" about them at all. Immediately, I compose myself, sigh, and smile

I'm going to try to refer to myself as "1/1000th Nordic" from now on and see what kind of reaction I get (hey, I LIKE those crappy meatballs they sell at IKEA)

me: sure - it costs 40,000 yen ($500) at the shop, so how about $XXX with EMS shipping?

Stores not updating customers when there's a change to plans.
Yesterday I drove into Toronto for a Lolipop Chainsaw launch event. The deal was supposed to be that you got to meet Jessica Nigiri and George A. Romero for a picture and then you would get your copy of the game two days early. Apparently during the middle of the week the publisher changed the deal and decided not to allow them to sell the game until the normal Tuesday launch. EB Games did nothing to notify anyone of this on their launch event page nor did they inform pre-order holders. I only found out when I showed up and asked someone. Now granted they did offer a coupon for $30 off when the game launches on Tuesday to try and make up for it, but it's just kind of annoying considering I spent at least $40 just in gas and parking and most people getting the $30 discount just walked down the street. A simple notice on the webpage would have at least allowed me to make a more informed choice and not ruin my expectations.

Someone decided to use my digital camera and mashed the lens cover in. Now the lens cover is stuck half closed, blocking the picture and letting dust in -_-. And, of course, no one thought to mention that they had damaged it, as if I wouldn't notice the next time I used it. Sonuva b**ch, so much rage.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
If it's anything like my wife's, there's a thin metal ring on top of the movable lens cover pieces. Get an exacto blade or something super thin, but strong, and try and bend the thin metal ring back into place. My wife's camera was dropped and suffered the same damage you describe. I was able to get it back in shape and saved her from buying a new oneBlackbird wrote:Someone decided to use my digital camera and mashed the lens cover in. That seems like it could work, however, I am not entirely confident in my ability to do that without scratching the lens. Gonna see what my local camera shop says first before I resort to DIY.

People in my country spouting English words for no real reason other than to try to sound cool. Very common among upper class snobs and fighting game fans here, it really gets on my nerves.
BTW, I still can't understand what's wrong with being able to shoot while moving. Fuck QTEs and cutscene melee attacks though.

something similar happened to me at work today. I was selling some hardwood flooring on clearance for $3.75/ft (down from $4.75) the total came out to $1400.rancor wrote:forum member: Hey rancor, can you go pick up XXX PCB for me at MAK / G-Front?

A woman living across the block from my own flat. She screams, squeaks and shouts at her two children 24/7. I have no fricking idea what they were about, but i did overhear something about coming home late. Gets a little annoying she does that half past six in the morning when I'm like just starting to sleep after a night shift work.
This is my signature. It's so unique, nobody else has it.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
May I suggest you record her as she goes ballistic, burn a CD of her ramblings, and leave it at her doorstep with the words "CUT IT OUT!" written in red on a piece of paper? Make sure not to leave fingerprints on it or anything that could identify you.

If the context is, say, Resident Evil, it's because having to choose one or the other can lead to some real terror. You have to think on your feet "should I try to get away first, or should I take the risk and try to kill it right here?"Hagane wrote:BTW, I still can't understand what's wrong with being able to shoot while moving. In general, it's the same deal, but that's the main instance where it really gets under my skin.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
This doesn't irritate me that much because I have some control over it; it's just the audacity and lack of consideration of those who do it:
I'm in line to pay for a drink at the convenience store. Behind me there's someone else with five or seven items, and ask me to let them go ahead of me just because I have one item. If I do that, *I* have to wait till they get rung for their five items, greatly inconveniencing me time-wise, whereas letting things run their course results in them waiting for me getting rung for one item alone. I've always declined, since there is no point in me wasting time for them, and it's not my fault they are stuffing their bags while I carry out a quick purchase.
Some people just love to abuse others' kindness.

Turning a blind eye and sweeping distasteful issues under the rug does nothing to actually address them. It always urks me when this happens.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Seriously? I'm used to the exact opposite happening, and people buying a bunch of stuff will occasionally offer to let you go first if you only have one or two items to save you time... I can't even imagine how you'd ask for the privilege to waste someone else's time.Specineff wrote: I'm in line to pay for a drink at the convenience store. Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
That's very kind of the people who let you go ahead. In the scenario I quoted, people don't realize that if I let them cut in, the time they "save" is negligible, while the time added to my wait can mess up my schedule if I am in a hurry. Which happens relatively often.

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Two things: lisps and people who phrase everything in the tone of a question. There's a news reader who irritates the hell outta me... and she has a two hour show! Shouldn't a news reader take a diction class to get rid of that speech defect
I cannot take this idiot seriously, esp. with that horrible lisp!

Flaky friends.
Or maybe I should expand my circle of friends outside of the 10 people I talk to on a consistent basis.

I've been having a hard time with old friends lately acting like they can just blow things off and it'll be cool because we've known each other for long enough to still be cool. It's kinda not. So, I have been making new friends with surprising results, turns out that there are a lot if awesome people that are organized, thoughtful, and really decent. I'm starting to think that maybe I had spent way too much time around scumbags. My quality of life has gotten much better by spending time with happier, healthier people. And, it's a whole new grouping of women that I have never met before!

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Biggest problem for me is that I don't want to intrude in peoples lives so I often shy away, rather than attempt to converse.
I should have asked some people if they wanted to join me in stargazing last night, but the one person who I was planning on coming said she was eating/drinking and would text me later. So 11 o'clock rolls around with no message so I drove 15 miles to the top of the mountain to find 30 mph gusts like sand paper. I wound up getting drunk in my car and drove home. :/
