I'm curious, is MM Zero finished, or did they just stop for a while at MMZ4?

Well, ZX just came out, so it may be the end of the "Z" series and the beginning of the "ZXx" series (i.e. ZX1, ZX2, etc.).

Must be the end of the Zero series, Zero being dead and all. How else would the kids perform "mega-morph" *cough*butchedtranslation*cough*. Everybody now is a fossil called a M.E.G.A *cough*Meta.Encapsulated.Granule.Awareness*cough* ARRGGGHHHH. Gosh, am I going to love this game with its Resident Evil quality translation and "open ended" (repeat after me: bactracking like hell) gameplay. Yep, Capcom is on drugs.

I'm still a MM fan, though Capcom should've done a better job with ZX. What was wrong with the Japanese names? Do we need Megatroid style gameplay? What happened to the good 'ole days? I really hate to sift through BS and walk around the same place fifteen times in a MM game. /end rant.

 That's super impressive undamned. A truly hardcore Mega Man addict, you are.

BTW, how much did you pay for Rockman Mega World? I had to pay almost $60 for my copy. Probably the rarest Rockman game ever made....wouldn't you agree?

And what is Super Adventure Rockman (Saturn) all about? I've heard of it, but never tried it out.

I really don't recall, but from what I've seen over the years, $60 for a complete and good condition game is a good deal!

It's like an interactive anime story. You watch then play a minigame, and repeat. I've not completed it, but the minigames I've played were mostly shooting where you move the cursor to fire your buster (including charge shot) at foes.

Interesting video, great collection and very nice display! For someone who hasn't been very interested in Rockman/Megaman until now, which games would you recommend/consider to be the best?
At first glance, the sheer number is a bit overwhelming. (I have actually played a few random games of the series ages ago, and Mega Man 9).

Thanks! Well, as far as experiencing the core of the franchise, it's hard to go wrong with Megaman 2 for NES and Megaman X for SNES. Very hard to not enjoy those :D From there opinions tend to differ, but that's an excellent place to start.

I have to push for X4 for the PSX/Saturn as well. It's an amazing game and as good as X.

Or check out our massive Mega Man thread

Haha, Mega Man 1's PAL cover is pretty cool. Awesome pose, yelling while blasting his laser and stepping over a dead guy. Manly 80s Manga Man!

I'd assumed it'd suck like the US MM1-3 boxarts with their overweight mall security / deranged crotch-blasting garden gnome depictions.

Yup! Probably the best non-japanesey MM art out there. Really captures the boy robot thing. I've seriously considered blowing it up (there's a clean larger image in the Official Megaman Complete Works book) and getting it printed on a canvas (many online print shops do this). Speaking of boy robots, I'm surprised Rockman's blatant rip off of Astro Boy doesn't come up hardly at all. I think I've seen one article that mentions it. I guess RM runs w/ the weapon upgrade gimmick hard enough to distance itself.

PAL MM2 is pretty cool aswell, very retro-airbrushed artwork that makes me think Cobra rather than Megaman..

I'm just pleased to see the PAL box art got the Arm Cannon right, instead of a handgun.

I saw that as well from "drkittykr" -- an all-in-one Korean PCB hack/boot of Rock Man 2? Going by the screens, it's all in English and the character names haven't been changed. Except for Rock Man of course.

I've been on a huge Megaman kick myself lately. I'm kind of going back and enjoying alot of the less popular entries I may have only played through once or twice before. Megaman X3, the Rockman World series, and replaying Zero 4 since I never finished it back in the day.

I also finally checked out the Battle Network games and found that they really aren't that bad at all. It's nice that they aimed a little bit of strategy at kids like that and kept MM relevant. Is it worth my time to watch any of those cartoons they ran some years back? Apparently they made over 100 (!) episodes.

The only games in the regular timeline I haven't completed are Zero 4, ZX, and ZX Advent. Looking forward to being caught up.

My Megaman obsession was reignited when I found MM 8-Bit Deathmatch. There's also some other really cool fan games out there like MM Perfect Harmony, which is like a 4 player arcade style MM action game. Really great stuff.

Do yourself a favour and skip the ZX games. They're a headache that's not worth having.
