Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)

Seriously, congrats Erppo!
I'm not sure how the tables should be split, since every version is different.

Thanks. I actually did the same with MAME some time ago so I already had pretty good idea what to do though. Also from what I've seen and heard, the 360 port is really accurate compared to the PCB so I see no point in separating them. I've only tried the PS2 port with an emulator but that definitely feels different. I remember Original especially being a lot harder in it.
Hey don't blame me!Sapz wrote:You bastard.

This thread is shockingly inactive considering how recently this game was released.
I'd have expected it to be flooded with scores daily.

To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.
Re: Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)
I guess it's because the game is nearly a decade old, and most people are done with it by this point.

Re: Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)
Main reason I'm scared to try out 1.0 Maniac/Ultra is there don't seem to be any really good autofire vids out there and it wouldn't really be an even playing field as the top Japanese players supposedly used some hacked PCB/laptop set up to get the best autofire rates possible. 1.5 is top notch stuff, though.

Re: Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)
You could play non autofire; I'm pretty sure the Japanese separate the records as well. Autofire takes away the intensity of trying to adjust and control your tapping while dodging, which is really the best thing the game has going for it. It's a silly system and the game does rely on tapping way too much, but successfully skyrocketing on a midboss or parts of stage 3 is more exciting than the dodging the game demands.
Aside from that, I'm not sure how what the value of an autofire video would have over any other scoring video - trying to figure out the perfect firing rate? If you're playing the port(s), that's probably already been determined by somebody.

Can't seem to get the counter to high in this mode. Also, there doesn't seem to be many people playing this judging from the scores online... wonder why?

I've opened a table for the X360 arrange mode as I am told you start with a 30k counter unlike the PS2 version.
Edit: updated. let me know if there are errors. This board is huge >_<

Re: Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)
There are other differences I know of such as being able to skyrocket the counter, 300 million per life clear bonus instead of 100 million, and you lose all bombs on an autobomb instead of just 1. So it's pretty much a different mode entirely. Not sure if pointblanking has more effect on one or not.. Not to mention actually having better slowdown when compared to arcade.

Actually looks a little easier than 1.0 Ultra with the buffed attack power. Not a Futari Ultra-God type deal but still a bit easier overall. That final pattern is utter bullshit, though.

Looks much easier than 1.0! Except for the boss where the missing slowdown makes it quite hard, Ultra Max looks quite doable overall.
Re: Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)
The lack of slowdown is the whole point isn't it. I do think the stages are easier because of the max firepower.Plasmo wrote:Looks much easier than 1.0! Except for the boss where the missing slowdown makes it quite hard, Ultra Max looks quite doable overall.

Re: Mushihime-sama & 1.5 (PCB / PS2 / X360)
I had a chance to play the xbox port of 1.5 yesterday and its definetly easier than the PCB.
using my same techniques as always i managed to bring the counter up to +175K on stage 1 as compared to my absolute max of ~120K on the PCB.
more importantly i had the counter upp to +500K not even halfway thru stage 3 (before emphatics xbox crapped out) which is a good double to what i do on the PCB, ofcourse carrying that kind of counter thru the stage will make your score skyrocket.

Updated with the #1 scores. Good job guys.
Yes it seems there is some difference in versions in difficulty and such. It would be annoying to a purist, and perhaps would inspire one to make seperate boards because of these small changes. But naw, I'll just be plopping them with the others with system noted. If the difference becomes too prevalent on the board I'll consider new tables for 360 version of modes.

i dont think there are enough players to split the boards, making a note of which version is being played is effort enough.Aquas wrote: Yes it seems there is some difference in versions in difficulty and such. Just wanted to clarify that the difficulty has indeed been toned down for the port (it still rocks tho).
