I wasn't sure if I should post this on the Genesis thread. But....

All from the same store, mostly all in really nice condition. If you're in proximity, be sure to swing by Seth's Games and Anime in Ventura, CA. There's also Mero Games in Camarillo nearby with a lot of other used stuff, though I haven't been there in a while.

I paid for this only with sweat, because I found it in the garbage room and figured "Why not":

Got a box of some cool stuffs today after I had already posted the previous picture so I'll be posting some pictures of that later. Need to actually resize and upload them first, and I have a lot of pictures. Here's a preview.

Is that thing a "Dazzle" video capture device?

Or is it some weird alien dildonic video-game input device?

Probably the former....but if it's the LATTER....to each their own man. Different strokes for different folks....

I just picked up the MadCatz/Sanwa Soul Calibur stick and I honestly couldn't believe the difference between this and the hori Tekken stick I had. It's mind blowing.

Not a clue mate, it was the pack in one with Tekken 6 and art book. Felt pretty insubstantial and the buttons were horrid - really sticky and vague.

I'll add my congrats and say yeah, you are never preparred! A buddy of mine who is a custom car painter, tattooed all over and a general hard case had his first kid a few years back and when I went to see him and his wife in the recovery room, he was crying like a baby. Proud as hell, but couldn't hold back.

Again, congrats!

Yes the parts in that one sucked and fitting a nice brand stick in that low profile case is not possible without Dremel modding, kinda.

Sorry for the bad cell-phone pics.
Picked up a Q3 RAF. This is just the empty case (the buttons that came with it are throw-away knock-offs).
canadianjoysticks has them on sale for $59.99 CAD, and I have enough parts laying around to use that I figured why not. Great case, the construction is solid!

Also got this at my last poker game. You could say I bought this...going all-in!
Image

In the years I've been playing poker with my buds, I've never seen a Royal Flush, and I got this one off the flop! The odds of that! It's too bad I lost this tourney, but I was just happy to hit this monster hand when it was needed (I was low stack at the time).

I've been eyeing these cases for a while now ... Last time I needed a case, I kind of cheaped out and got an empty Brawlstick case from someone at SRK, which while less than 1/2 the price needed a lot of work just to change the artwork on it.

What does the inside look like? How is the joystick mount designed? Did they provide a spot to mount a PCB at all?

I don't have a screw driver here at work, but here is a pic I've found on the net:
Image

The top and bottom panels are metal, while the top panel also has plexi over it. The metal has joysticks mounting holes for you to use your official plates on, I believe the flat plate (JLF-P-1 for sanwa sticks) is the one that is pictured here.
There is a bit of space at the close side of the stick to mount PCB's, seems adequate for a large-sized PCB if you wanted to put in something as big as a DC pad hack.

edit: here's a better pic...

Just picked up an awesome upgrade to my home gaming setup. Spotted a 26" RCA Flatscreen CRT at a yard sale for 20 bucks. I think it's a higher end late-gen CRT, as it even has a Component Video port in the back, in addition to S-Video and the usual Composite. Haven't tested Component yet, but the picture is very nice with S-Video. Pretty much everything you could ask for in a retro console display/arcade monitor, and the size of the display is just right.

It's pretty heavy, so I'll dedicate this one to horis and use my other 21" CRT as a dedicated vert display now.

I really need to learn about buttons eheh - I got a Q3 XS (exact same body and artwork as that) - the box was some 'Arcadia' edition or something - as I'm too thick to ascertain myself - are the buttons that come with that lumps of crap too? They feel pretty ok to me.

The SMG hype shouldn't be all wrong, but I still can't get accustomed to the polygonal, voiced Mario. Nintendo dropped the ball with that one and haven't picked it up yet; at least not in Mario Kart Wii (but the games are overall decent).
Onimusha DoD PAL, from what I know, doesn't have the Japanese voices (60 Hz should be there, though, like in Capcom games for seemingly all the PAL consoles since 2002 or so; even Gregory Horror Show which didn't even come out in the US), but I got it cheap sealed in a brick & mortar store, so what the heck. I don't play Onimusha games for the voice acting anyway. Actually the American voices in Onimusha 2, Capcom cheese and all, kinda worked for me.
Been wondering... Why Metroid: Other M appears to be the only properly discounted Wii game at this point. I've seen it cheaper than almost aything else. Hey, even for Nintendo, it's not THAT bad. PS2 had WAY more cheap re-releases at comparable point of its life.

How big is that? I recently (past 4 months) bought a Sony KV-36FV27 and it was more than a pain in the ass to move. After we got it home it took three of us to get it upstairs and into it's final resting place.

P.S. nice ponies.

The front measures roughly 87,5x50,5 cm.

In other news, tape measures are easier to use when 80% of the numbers aren't faded into near oblivion.

Yeah, they're really bad when you compare them to the light-touch of the Sanwa buttons, or the sturdy press of the Seimitsu ones.

They're kinda cheap/hollow feeling, with very shitty spring-back return. I've already swapped them out with Seimitsu buttons (only 'cause Sanwa hasn't done a clear button that you can put art into! Someone screwed up there...). I might keep it that way anyways, I like the feeling of the seimitsu's, it's less accidental to press. ;)
