2d Fighter Melty Blood to DC petition!

Post by KBZ »

We've begun petitioning, and emailing Ecole for a dreamcast port of their new naomi fighter, Melty Blood.

Image

They've told Dreamcast-Scene that they are huge sega fans, and that they'd like to port it, but aren't sure if it would be possible to do.

We've been sending letters to Ecole letting them know how similar the Naomi is to the DC, and how every new release on our console has been selling out like it's nobody's business.

Here is the letter being attatched to every email sent to Ecole.

Please sign the petition Here

And email them at webmaster@e56.info and please link to the letter and petition in your message.

Thank you very much on behalf of everyone at DCS!

Vive la Dreamcast!

Naomi? I thought that Melty Blood was a doujin PC fighter? Guess I was wrong.

Hey it doesn't look bad at all!
For some reason it reminds me of Guilty gear.

The link in Kingbuzzo's first line takes you to a page with about Melty Blood AC. I guess the PC original was popular enough that they made a Naomi version.

PS - Everytime I read a GameSpot page, I check the statistics. Someday, I want to be reading the page for the least popular game. I really want to see Rank: #17,324 of 17,324.

yup, it's 2d fighter that's been ported from PC to Naomi. So far it's doing well, and it's expected. How many games actually get ported TO arcade?

peace,

Kingbuzzo.

Yes, it's a revamped (har har) version of the doujin fighter. This is the first doujin to arcade conversion ever afaik. 8)

Just out of curiosity... anyone here familiar with the franchise to any extent? I have the original doujin game and have seen some of the Tsukihime anime... interesting material but I'm not quite sure why it exploded like it did.

I saw this game a lot on my recent trip to Japan. My wrists are doing a lot better now, but at the time playing fighting games (which include button-mashing) was the last thing I wanted to do. Instead I saved my energy for Mushihime-sama. The game looked cute, but it didn't really catch my eye much... except for the fact that it was Naomi (actually, I thought it was Atomiswave). The fact that it's actually a doujin game that's gone to the arcade is reason enough to get it, I think. That's quite a feat. Weird name, though. Melty Blood.

yes, a written petition is what we will be doing since...well it's worked very well in the past for games like Border Down and Shikigami no shiro 2.

The online petition is more of a way to convince potential petition signers that the movement is running well. At least that's what it is now that we're going for a written petition :p

If someone could translate the Melty Blood Page on DCS in my sig to Japanese and link it, then I think we'd see some insane numbers.

thanks,

Kingbuzzo.

I played this very briefly. It is, perhaps, the ugliest game currently in arcades -- everyone should erase their names from the petition.

Not to stir anything up over scaling or anyting, but Melty Blood is the best example that I can find of why you don't want scaling. The characters look like they're scaled from about 1/4 of the size they're displayed at. Very pixelated, and nothing to aleviate the pain. It is, a huge hunk of shit.

the sprites are pixelated, yes. But did you not notice all the frames of animation? And the fantastic voice overs? That's just one of the things that sells this game other than the fact that MANY love how it plays. This is clearly one of the finest dojin games ever, and would make a great dc title.

Your not the only one to think that way though. That's how I felt the first while till I got into the game.

peace,

King.

It should also be noted that 2D fighters are one of my least favorite genres as well. :)
