I only got 12 so far. Does anybody know what game is at the bottom right corner? I know it from somewhere, I just can't place it.

I was expecting all sorts of nostalgia but these ain't no games I played in the nineties. Well, I did play Lion King although on PC, and Tetris... but isn't that an eighties game?

After a quick look I only knew a bit over ten games but it was mostly stuff like Ducktales and FF6 which have themes anyone can recognize. I guess it shows I never really touched any of these consoles as a kid.

MicroProse...? Apogee...? id Software...?

Man, the SoR2 title music really is just a shameless Enigma ripoff isn't it?

Fucking love that Phantasy Star Music.

I got like 34 with hints before I got fed up.

I got 43 without hints or screenshots. Ones I should have known but didn't are A3 (knew it was the credits of an SNES game but couldn't place it), B1 (must have heard in the recent remake), C13 (associated the Nutcracker music with Crystal Castles), E10 (kept putting a hyphen in its name that wasn't accepted), and F7 (no excuse there, other than I played its psuedo-sequel way more).

Is the title screen music from a game, too? It sounds familiar.

I'd be surprised if a single member of this forum knew the theme to Rap Jam Volume One or generic soccer sim 82.

I didn't have a console until the PlayStation / N64, but I should be able to recall names for more of these because I recognize them...it's a good thing I listened to Rock 'n' Roll Racing, isn't it?

I was able to guess a couple without knowing what they were. One of these is driving me nuts - it seems to have the melody from the Robocop theme, but it's not taking. It's not taking RvT either (I wonder why  ). Ditto for one that sounds like Hook...

So far...31 done by the end of the page, no hints used.

Some time later: 35 done, had to look up an alternate name once (probably could've recalled it given more time).
Some more time later: Some of these hints are idiotic...no...silly...no, idiotic. "The main character is a basketball player." Well, considering it's a 1-vs-1 fighting game, should the brand even count? How about this: "I don't know if 'Cosmo Gang' is a verb, an introduction to Cosmo, or the name of a puzzle." Are you kidding me?

Yet more time later: Christ, I have this game on the shelf above my monitor. 48 so far using one-point hints. There is really a feature film based on ZAMN in the works?!

"Some people will know this game as "Aero Blasters." The Genesis version was renamed, however." + "Aero Blasters seems like a much cooler name to me." Uh yeah.

I do like the bit of trivia (for another game) about a LCD watch version of the game being released by Kellogg's...I should know that one, but I didn't get to see every piece of swag that passed on by...hm.

65 done using trivia and hints (no screens): How the hell am I supposed to know a wrestling game, a racer (well, maybe I should know that one), puzzle games, and a basketball game starring rappers? I'm looking these up. (I'm still getting some via just the hints, though.)

73/93...I think I actually have this game ("one of the most iconic shows of the nineties") :P
74/93...I know I've had a copy of this one, never opened it up though ("America's largest killer of time..." looks pretty shitty, honesty)
82/93...Figured out the Robocop theme reference, doh. Got the next one with a screenshot.
84/93...Are you kidding me? It's right there in the damned screenshot, argh.
85/93..."one of the best pinballs games [sic] ever;" that must be why I've never heard of it (and it's a Codemasters release, at that).
90/93...Three letters. Wow, I overthought that one. I had trouble with the preceding question (thank god for listal.com)
Pastebin shows the location of the secret questions (if you want a hint, look for trivia or games that mention cheat codes, and try inputting them, as one asks you to do). Aaaand...done!

That's how far I got:

Got a little over a half without hints. What is the hip-hop game in the screenshot?

There's some really bad games in this quiz, but I do guess "anthropomorphic-mascot-with-an-attitude-platformers" typify early 90s gaming.

I can get most things on the basis of screenshot but not music, mainly because I read magazines as a kid but didn't have enough money to buy the latest piece of crap platformer or Street Fighter II rip-off.

Some of the hints are shocking and they need to sort out the names you need to enter. I knew what Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco Grand Prix 2 was (in spite of the hint saying "a racing sim on the Genesis" and it showing a screenshot of the Master System version) but had to copy and paste the text from wikipedia before it let me have it.

Also where did they get the Golden Axe music from? It's almost unrecognisable.

Golden Axe 2? My point exactly... it took Golden Axe from me but Super Monaco GP 2 was a nightmare.

It's one of the most recognizable and iconic Golden Axe musics, I knew it from the first percussive sequence. But then, I'm a huge fan of the Golden Axe series. At least part 1, Revenge of Death Adder, and part 2 Gens. Such a shame Sega lets it's best franchises fall into obscurity.

I can't believe Sega's doing a GA collection without RoDA. Easily the best game. Didn't like 2 at all, 3 is underrated and better than 2.

I got 30/93 without any hints / help and I can recognize 3 other songs, but I just can't remember the games...
Hhmm... :?

I'll try the hints now.
But I noticed there are quite a few bad sports / puzzle games in this quiz.

I'm still missing one SNEStacular achievement! Not sure what I'm supposed to do. It says complete the game 100% to unlock a sprite...
