RQ: Imperishible Night Scoring question

Post by Illyrian »

Hey all, quick question,

Rapid firing with a high blue bar allows you to constantly grind points to an increasing value, just by using non-focussed fire on enemies.

Similarly, grazing with a high phantom bar gains you an increasing amount of points. My questions are the following:
1. With a full blue bar, does grazing increase the amount of points you get when your phantom bar is filled?
2. Does autoshotting enemies with a full blue bar also increase the value of grazing when you have a full phantom bar?

Apologies if this is rather garbled as questions go.

...What?

You can't have both human and phantom bars filled at the same time. One is always empty.
2. Does autoshotting enemies with a full blue bar also increase the value of grazing when you have a full phantom bar?
No.

Also, you only get graze points from *bosses* while in phantom mode- not from normal stage enemies.

First, I apologize if I misunderstand the questions.
Rapid firing with a high blue bar allows you to constantly grind points to an increasing value, just by using non-focussed fire on enemies.
Shooting at -80% phantom bar, unfocused, allows you to get time orbs equivalent to enemy's HP. The time orb is used to boost point item value, unlock extra boss attack, and have its own score value.

Also there's no need for rapid pressing the shoot button in any scenario, be it focused, unfocused, 0% phantom bar, 80% etc. . A superficially similar situation is when some players change it's either Youkai or Human side by pressing shift rapidly, but that's to preserve phantom bar so it doesn't move left or right without resorting to shoot, potentially damaging unwanted enemies.
1. With a full blue bar, does grazing increase the amount of points you get when your phantom bar is filled?
At -100% to -80% (deep blue/full blue bar), you get 6,000 points and 3 graze count per bullet grazed.
At -80% to -20% (light blue), you get 4,000 points and 2 graze count per bullet grazed.
At -20% to 20% (white), you get 2,000 points and 1 graze count per bullet grazed.
At 20% to 80% (light red), you get 4,000 points and 1 graze count per bullet grazed.
At 80% to 100% (deep red), you get 6,000 and 1 graze count per bullet grazed.

That applies for most of the teams. For human solo, youkai solo, or Ghost team, you can check the wiki's table. Graze count is later used for end stage bonus calculation.

Grazing a bullet always gets score boosts relative to phantom bar condition, as stated in answer for question 1.
Grazing a bullet in stage, regardless of phantom bar condition, will not produce a time orb.
Grazing one bullet in either midboss or boss non-spellcard attack (a no name attack), in 80% or above phantom bar (deep red), will produce one time orb.
Grazing one bullet in either midboss or boss spellcard attack (named attack), in 80% or above phantom bar (deep red), will produce three time orbs.

For more information, this wiki page is extremely helpful. With information and scoring formula in it you can even predict your end game score.
