You guys make me laugh. SNK died in 2001, and Playmore has been sure to sweep out all the ashes of the original SNK under their carpet. They killed off the MVS/AES (Something the REAL snk would have never done), and they use fucking rehashed sprites in everything they do. What the hell was the point of the move to Atomiswave?? Have you guys taken the time to check out the screenshots of this game? It's all rehashed Low-res sprites with added interpolation as filtering. Fucking pathetic. I hope Playmore dies so I can shit on their grave.
And maybe if SNK HAD killed off MVS/AES sooner they might no have ended up in the shit they did. Let's face it, outdated 15-year old coin-op hardware and overpriced home carts couldn't keep them afloat forever.

Anyhow, don't give a shit about SS6, but dammit if HnK doesn't look the absolute shit.

Other than you showing off your SNES knowledge I don't see your point.
I know they are crapped-out, and?

Hokuto no Ken 6, however has some really catchy tunes..........

The point is you claimed you were uber-enthusiastic about Hokuto no Ken. History has not proved kind to the series with regards to its video games. So if you really are so pumped up, have you tried the earlier fighters to taste earlier installments? The fact that someone enjoyed and mastered those awful games would be quite amazing.

I also don't see what I showed off. Everybody was claiming they loved Hokuto no Ken in this thread and I simply brought up the licensed games. If you really are as hardcore about Hokuto no Ken as you say, then these games should be second nature to you, just as the Super Butohden games are second nature to DBZ fans.

I like Akira; does that also mean I have to like the craptastic Amiga platformer of the same name? I for one am psyched about HnK because it looks like it could actually do the franchise justice.

No. But it does mean that if you don't have Akira Psychoball, you're a total bitch.

What Marc said about SNK. They didn't even develop their own best games in the first place. Overrated.

The best HnK game is that 3D beat em up for PS1. The rest, without exception, truly suck. This game could be good but they should've picked a better license.

Black Belt was originally a Hokuto no Ken game? Seriously? Are you sure you aren't thinking of Last Battle, which was also a shitty game?

As for the chances of the new arcade game being crap, keep in mind that it's developed by Arc System. These guys know how to make a great fighter. I wouldn't too much about the quality of this game.

What, you never knew this? Could've sworn I mentioned Black Belt was a FOTNS game to you months and months ago.

Well, now you know.

I'll give you a little history lesson on SNK since it seems you don't know. Financial problems for them didn't start until Susan Barone made the decision to use the more expensive, yet crappier cardboard boxes for the Neo Geo Pocket games. Remember this, if you let your wife decide important manufacturing factors at your company, you'll probably go bankrupt. If everyone would learn to keep their family and business separated, we'd still have the Real SNK, and not this fake company with this fake Naomi hardware.

Well, if your going to be so critical every game company has done something that may have dissapointed a few fans, but those mistakes didn't cause bankrupsy.

Cardboard boxes..... Neo Pocket games.....riiight.....

Seriously, whatever contributed to SNK's downfall - (and personally, I think Hyper 64, Pocket, and AES all played their part in some form), to blame it on a couple of cardboard boxes is a bit, well, stupid. Sorry to be so blunt, but there you go. If SNK were so shaky that a bad decision regarding Neo Pocket game packaging brought them to their knees, they can't have been doing that well to start with. Should have ditched AES/MVS and gone multi-platform long ago.
