Amazingly bad articles / comments

Post by TrevHead (TVR) »

Similar to the Amazingly bad reviews thread where all us thirty somethings act like old codgers about how retarded articles and comments sections are

I'll start off. It seems that many gamers in this comments section think ICO, Bastion and Bit Trip Series as under the same Art Game genre as The Passage, The Path and Journey http://www.destructoid.com/jimquisition ... 3708.phtml

Here you go, two advertisements thinly disguised as "reviews" and "previews."

- 9 out of 10 for a goddamn Zumba Kinect game, even with the choice quote "Zumba Fitness Rush still isn’t a dance game. In fact, it’s not really much of a 'game' at all." Then why the hell is Official Xbox Magazine reviewing it?

- This really doesn't even try to hide that it's a paid Apple ad. There's the necessary single sentence of dissent--"The only thing Apple needs now is an actual controller with real buttons"--but then we get "It may be remarkable engineering or it may just be Apple 'magic.'"

I never understood how anyone could stand G4, in particular Attack of the Show. It's inane and basically consists of them showing Youtube videos or advertising tech gear constantly. It's like a glorified, un-funny tech shopping channel. If I wanted to shop, I'd read reviews by people who've actually used the product and not the review by some tv host who was almost certainly paid to review the product.

Tech TV was a reasonably okay network, then G4 came along and utterly destroyed their credibility.

Tech TV was amazing, and we all took it for granted. Oh Leo Laporte era Screensavers how I miss thee.

Yeah, I will never ever understand wtf Comcast was smoking when they decided to "merge" TechTV with G4 after buying it. TechTV was doing extremely well, and instead of just rolling with it, some (or a few) dumb exec decides "hey, let's take our shitty network and put it together with the largely successful network we just bought and then completely take it over with our shit that completely failed before! GENIUS!"

I have to wonder sometimes how Adam Sessler must feel knowing that he literally is the only person to have survived the whole ordeal (at some cost to his integrity, but eh) and maintained his job without resorting to some kind of "new media" blitz. I mean, I love Revision3 and TWiT, but.....it just isn't the same.

TechTV did manage to retain some of it's tech focus here in Canada, but eventually it too became bullshit. Such a tragic loss for the techie crowd. Someone go kick Paul Allen until he funds a new network.
Look at our friendly members:

Let us never forget the Space Balls Animated Series. So brutally tasteless and offensive right at the very first title sequence, BryanM wanted to punch the guy responsible in the face.

The same BryanM who regards Gantz Abridged in a favorable light.
PSX Vita: Slightly more popular than Color TV-Game system. Almost as successful as the Wii U.

Sessler is probably on top of the world. He can probably even afford hookers and blow. I wonder how often he actually writes reviews anymore.
