In your uneducated opinion. I happen to know quite a lot of details about each individual character and find them all to be quite interesting. There are already many characters in this film that seem to play very strong, distinctive roles, possibly even iconic by the time of it's release. When I watched this trailer, I was closely studying each of them and at no point did any one of them seem like the other.

The script (at least in the trailer) is shite too.

Exactly. So, you'd think they would be trying to come up with new and interesting ways to sell viewers cinematic concepts. But no. Instead they market it as just another action movie, like all the rest. The standard trailer model has been mocked and parodied for decades (Ben Elton back in the eighties springs to mind!), but it absolutely refuses to change at anything other than a glacial rate.

Most are creeping up on £10 for anything not 3D, premium cinemas around £14 to £16. 3D usually adds around £3 - £4 on the ticket depending on where you go.

I've got nothing against Charlize Theron, but ever since every movie she has been in I just feel she isn't well-suited to sci-fi as a genre. Dunno why, just feel like there's a weird clash there.

Dude, the only thing she needs is a boner fide nude scene; those Playboy shots were good and all, but we need MOAR That's my only complaint.

I can honestly say this is the only movie that has me a bit excited about going to the cinema. I rarely do that

Dan O' Bannon would have breathed fire all over this. He hated all alien sequels with venom. His argument was good: everything that you can milk out of them as a horror movie was milked in first, and everything you can milk as an action monster movie was milked out dry in the second. After the second one, there was nothing left. Well except the space jockeys.

And obviously now they are going to expose the origins of Space Jockeys, which I fear is a mistake, as everyone has their own conceptions already how they should be like. Already it has been hinted in the trailers that jockeys are just humanoids in elephant suit, rather than gross biomechanical beings outgrown from their chairs. And this because Ridley was excited about Erich Von Däniken..

I will see this movie of course, I just hope I won't be hating it. Chances are that this will cause Star Wars-prequel proportions of epic backlash nerd rage, once everyone sees that Ridley's (and spaiht's & lindeloff's) idea of alien origins was something completely different than what they had.

Of course, if the movie is good then maybe not. But we'll see.

It's probable that the humanoid Jockey shown is the man playing the part of 'Prometheus' of legend, stealing fire from the gods, and not one of the actual Jockeys. The actual Jockeys were like 20 feet tall in the original film.

I have a fun theory that this will be our new xenomorph, since something has to take on the role of the eagle which pecks out his liver.

EDIT: So, is Noomi Rapace top-billed? Lead roll? Hard to tell who the lead of this one is from the trailer. Just watched the original Millenium Trilogy so this might be hard to seeing her speaking English, not getting raped and beaten, nor tattooing people against their will.

I'm one of the dying breed who actually rents his movies rather than downloads, so I'm not worried about the subs, I'm sure the official finnish dvd has good enough translation

Well for one, that would be very hokey in a 50's B sorta way and I have more faith in Ridley Scott than that. Also we see him aggressively approaching Noomi's character, who is scuttling backwards on the floor just before screaming. It doesn't show his face there, but it's because it would be spoilerific to reveal who steals their tech in the trailer. The outfit and body structure match up all the same, and it is obviously our man in blue.

Me too, but it's only natural to be hopeful after 30 years of waiting. My conclusions aren't guesswork, they are based on an extremely thorough analysis of each trailer and responses to interviews with the cast & crew.
