Widescreen rocks.... get over it.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Let's hope the 50 minute playtime doesn't discourage many players .. >_>

To be honest, I'd expect a lengthy playtime to attract more players.

Problem with most long shooters is they're repetitive/slow/boring. This one is slow for sure.

You're not seeing any argument otherwise from me. It does look like a pretty slow game. Hopefully the stage select and skippable cutscenes speed it up a lot.

The level of bloodwarming ACTION and EXCITEMENT in this one will determine whether it is a SHMUP or just a shump.

I'm betting they'll price it at 1200 MSP like R-Type Dimensions and Radiant Silvergun. Sound like a good guess?

Agreed. Which is going to turn a lot of people off.

I think 1200 MSP is a very safe guess.

Yeah, that's not a very promising trailer imo. The music is pretty good, and I'm fine with the narration, but the video seems to emphasize that the game has a ton of memorizey bits, which I can't stand. I really don't like the look of those flamethrower and laser rooms in particular. That they only give us a few seconds of gameplay at a time is also pretty annoying. Here's hoping for the best.

I want to see more of the weaponry. You only get a look at the peashooter here, and you can't tell if it's dealing real damage or Last Hope damage.

I like the trailer, Nice music, Nice backgrounds, Despite it looking like a memorizer it looks like the background is trying to kill you... Like on Darius, Which is quite damn awesome.

Fuck yeah memorizer. And environmental hazards, awesome. I would've liked to see clips that are longer than two seconds each, but what I did see here, I liked. The mecha at 1:04 was pretty cool.

This trailer is awful. It shows no real gameplay and makes the game look like it's nothing but frustrating memo beginning to end. Sure the occasional out of nowhere memo kill can be cool or amusing (see: Satazius) but I don't think many people have a desire to sit through an hour of it. All this trailer says to me is "look how fun this game isn't."

I can't help but notice that the closer this game comes to release the more people are blowing off problems and making excuses for it. Pretty sure this game isn't going to be very good and probably won't make much of an impression at all on either the shooter or general gaming communities.

It's a shame, with all the involvement on the forum here I was really hopeful about this game and fairly excited. It seems like they implemented the easy stuff that more or less amounts to adding options but didn't ever have any intention of altering the game itself in any meaningful way, seems like the forum presence was more just an effort to get us hopeful/interested/invested than anything else.

I really sincerely hope to be proven wrong on this and I'm still looking forward to the release but...I'm just not getting my hopes up at all at this point.

Meh. All too slow and annoying to watch. Quite idotic to release a teaser after trailer anyway.

Say what you like about the (as yet unproven) gameplay, but those are the best 3D graphics I've ever seen in a shmup.

The forum presence's primary focus was and is to discuss the game. If there are any questions, I'll be here and glad to answer them - even beyond the release, of course.

If "altering the game in any meaningful way" means making this game different what it is, that's very unfortunate. Sine Mora was developed by a bunch of guys who love shoot'em up games, probably differently than some of you do. Only one of our goals was making a game which will please the hardcore shmup fan - the other, equally important goal was to make a trojan horse, which is able to convert people and raise interest in our beloved genre. We had our vision how to do this and we had a chance to realize it.

That said, we are still very much interested in your opinion, so - even if you just download the Trial - let us know what you think. Thanks!

Right, don't take what I've said the wrong way. I'm still very interested to play this game and very appreciative of the outreach to the community. I'll be going into the game with an open mind and really am hoping to enjoy it thoroughly.

Any letdown I'm currently experiencing is primarily due to expecting development to have gone in a different direction regarding overall style, I'm not going to judge quality with no actual playtime to base it on. I was extremely excited when the name Garegga popped up way back when and was hoping for the game design to follow it more closely, getting ahead of myself before information was available. I see now that the influence is more aesthetic than in the game mechanics, which is totally acceptable as Garegga really has quite a bit to offer up artistically and thematically.
