How to use XBOX 360 controller D-PAD on PC?

I have Madcatz XO controller that I´d like to use for playing some shmups on my PC but the problem is that the games only recognize the analog stick. Commercial games like Jamestown and Super Meat Boy are instantly usable with D-PAD however game like Blue Wish Resurrection notes only the analog stick. How can I make the D-PAD as default?

You can use something like joy2key or xpadder to map the d-pad directions to keyboard inputs instead, which should be recognized by just about any game and doujin shmups especially.
