Thanks.

1) Not bad, would work well at a barbeque with beers.
2) Dull.
3) Sends me to sleep.

oldie but goodie:

1) Dull
2) Ooh, actually quite like this. Would work well as an intro to a DnB set.
3) Dull

I think my fundamental problem with the genre is it's low tempo, it generally lends itself more to experimental artsy dancing than anything rhythmic. That or sitting on a sofa doing not much. Give me something that engages the speed my synapses work at. Ambient and atmospheric stuff is the same - music for relaxing to. The noisy more energetic tracks seem to be rejected by the purists, and I'd rather listen to DnB than those.

Its all about the vibe, if you wanna dance go to some other night. After a joint or two, and feeling the bass on a big system, its just sublime :)

So you agree, dubstep isn't dance music? :)

Any music which requires the use of certain substances and/or overtuned sound systems (big bass, stupidly loud volume, whatever) to be "enjoyed" is flawed. >_>

Oh this is funny. Backstory: Skrillex said his favorite song was Flim by Aphex Twin and his fans were disappointed by the lack of a loud drop. This ensued.

Really digging this track. I think dubstep is fun to dance to for awhile but when your at a rave and all they are playing is dubstep and you move to the wobble and then the drop for the thousandth time its gets really dull.

I think Skrillrex does much better dubstep then the millions of amateurs who follow the same pattern every single time.

Anyone here enjoy that L.A style 80,s pop synth? That's probably my favorite genre of Techno outside of the big beat stuff from the late 90,s to mid 2000,s(Chemical Brothers,Propeller. Heads). I also love the most newer french electro.
I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.

I have no idea what is or isn't dubstep. I don't dance. My general idea of electronic music in general is something like "uh... Keith Emerson makes a Moog sound pretty awesome, and also Miki Higashino and Yuzo Koshiro and maybe Nobuo Uematsu -- depending on your scope of "electronic" -- FTW I guess?". I think Skrillex has some nice moments, but they're maddeningly fleeting; any given track is mostly crap.

For whatever the fuck that's worth. Drunkposting FTL and so on.

(I demand that I may or may not have an oversensitive orbitofrontal cortex, lol)

Don't know if this is supposed to be a joke/parody type thing, but in any case it sounds awful.

It's a joke. Electrocado is hilarious because they don't really take themselves seriously.

I've finally got around to hearing some dubstep and it is the worst music I have ever heard. I didn't think there'd be anything worse than Nu Metal, Nu Wave, New Country, and Mexican Ranchera music, but dubstep has managed to plumb the depths of the worst 8)

Dubstep, like every genre, can both have artist that make very engaging tracks, while other produce absolute shit.

I grew up listenting to a ton of Drum´n´Bass, a genre that can mean "chill" tunes that are basically ambient with some fluffly drumloops in the back, to very house-influenced dance-centric tracks, to abrasive jump up tunes in the style of DJ Hazard, or even moody, deep songs from the 90s Metalheadz era or the really oldschool tracks from Tom & Jerry.

So you could say you love drum´n´bass, and I say "Yeah, I love that stuff too!", but we could both have a completely different taste in either the specific subgenre, flavours, or single tracks.

Likewise, I sometimes really enjoy "dubby" tracks from producers like Benga or Skream, the really minimal styles, but people like Skrillex are just way too overproduced to me. Some dubstep tracks have more in common with other genres like detroit techno or Garage than with other produces from the same "genre".

Also, I really like the term "UK bass" 8)

So this is the place where I can post videos of music that show that every electronic music is below the level of a knee compared to this? Just look at the execution.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRDb7DxvkuE (wait until 0:50 and your mind will be blown)

Where is you mixer and sinths now? I'd like to see then coordinate hands and feet at the same time like this guys AND create beautiful music, which they don't.
