Seattle?!

Post by mesh control »

Hey,

I'm going to be headed to Seattle in a week from the 10th until 13th.

Are there any good arcades or places to play pinball? I remember you guys were doing meets and stuff a couple months back...

Hey that's perfect timing, we're having a meet on the 12th, but just at someone's house who has a pretty nice cab, since there aren't really any arcades around here with shmups. The old Pink Gorilla arcade where we previously hosted meetups is unfortunately no more though, but the guy who ran that arcade actually just recently got nearby as well where he'll be putting in like 10 pins and a candy cab or two (one for fighting games and one for shmups iirc), and a Pop'n 17 if music games are your thing too.

Full Tilt Ice Cream (the place mentioned above)

I'll probably be spending some time at Full Tilt during that weekend. Unfortunately as far as arcade shmups go that's about all we'll have at the moment, but Seattle has a pretty active pinball scene. I'm not too into pinball so I can't tell you much about it, but I'm sure one of the other members can point you in the right direction.

When I stayed in Seattle a few years ago I spent many hours at Shortys on the Evel Knievel pinball... which they don't seem to have any more. The pinball cove is still there though.

I'm hoping to get back to Seattle later in the year - have fun.

Full Tilt now has Espgaluda II in a New Astro City. There's another NAC with Bubble Memories. Worth checking out!

Hmm guys, does Full Tilt have the necessary equipment for a LAN party or something like that? 'Cause if we only have one candy cab to share and can't bring consoles a lot of people won't have much to do.

What if we meet at Full Tilt and then go to somebody's house? Stupid idea I know, but...

Hmmm, does anyone have access to the innards of these cabs?

If so, I could bring my G-Net with CF card. We can play any (one) of these:
Aero Fighters Special/Sonic Wings Special
Brave Blade
G-Darius (ver.1 / 2)
Night Raid
Psyvariar Medium Unit
Psyvariar Revision
Raystorm
Raycrisis
Shikigami No Shiro
Space Invaders Anniversary
XII Stag

I could also pack my Mars Matrix board.

Just a thought...

There's definitely not enough free space there to set up a LAN or bring our own console setups. Plus I doubt the staff would appreciate that.

I'll be at Full Tilt on Friday and Saturday after I get off work - I usually arrive around 8pm or so. I'll catch you all if you're still hanging around at that time!

Nice meeting you too Brad! I'll be at the Pinball expo for sure, last year was awesome and this year should be at least as awesome if not more awesome. Keep us posted on when you'll be in town.

Sorry I missed out (ended up having family stuff to deal with on Saturday) but I'm on the FB group now, so I should be able to keep track of these better now.

What does the housing market look like in (or around) Seattle right now?

I'm figuring I'm going to be stuck working in this shitty town for the rest of my life, but if I can get a house somewhere I like, that would be ideal.

houses are expensive. we rent part of a house and renting isn't too bad, but still expensive. you can look on redfin.com to get an idea.
