Yes, the same leeching is possible, if you win a 10up item. However 10.000.000 isn't a "counter stop" but only "achievement". Real Counter Stop in this game is 100.000.000.

Was searching for something else and I inadvertently ran into this:
http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~slunk/GAMES.pdf
It's a bit old but it might contain a few missed records... or possibly just Rapid Hero. Also I believe the correct on-forum record for said game can be found over here.

Rapid Hero is a infinite pattern game, no world record.

New score from Yusemi in DFK: 1.088.377.613.719.

Amazing that he's still working on this game, although I've heard it's his favorite.

There were some other new scores for DFK, DFK BL, and a new DOJ score from Halford in the new Arcadia, but I couldn't take any pics of the magazine and there was no other reason to pay the 1150 yen...so I'll just have to wait for someone else to share them when they have the time.

The DDP series seems to see the most movement in terms of Cave high scores, partly because there are so many of them, but also I think they're so hard that maxing out their scoring potential takes ages.

What does this mean? Is there a bug where an infinite pattern spawns? Any details on this?

I'll check next time I'm out, but I remember a week or so after it came out scores in Original mode were already in the hundreds of millions.

Some other (non-CAVE) Arcadia scores from the past few issues I have:

Seisou Kouki Strania
マッキさん - Strania, Normal - 15,651,500
マッキさん - Strania, Hard - 16,404,210
AFO - Strania, Expert - 16,319,480
マッキ上等兵 - Vower, Normal - 16,791,820
マッキ上等兵 - Vower, Hard - 18,115,420
HAM - Vower, Expert - 17,269,940

Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta!
G.M.C.Z. - Fululu - 849,373,920

Darius Burst Another Chronicle
プリン - Formula J - 237,408,600

Radirgy
TZW-ART - 226,305,450 (shot type & item count not specified?)

Strikers 1999
ねこまた - X-36 - 3,540,900

I didn't include scores for games that weren't already in this list or for games that no one in the West plays. If anyone is interested in scores for Darius Burst Another Chronicle EX, Senko no Ronde DUO, KOF Sky Stage, Shooting Love 2007, or Desert War then let me know.

Hmm, it'd be good to still list these, I think (although maybe not Senko no Ronde as it's not really a shmup). For Darius Burst, I just need the highest score of all the modes listed. Thanks again.

Many arcade games (also shooting) not have a official world record (no Gamest / Arcadia score) because there are some bugs or infinite pattern. However after 10 years of research, I found some scores of this category with a specific comment from the player "no infinite pattern use". Some exemples:

Area 88: best score possible with all clear is about 1.800.000 / 1.830.000. With infinite pattern after 15 hours 9.999.999 is possible. This game not have a score on Arcadia.

ASO 2 ~ Last Guardian: best score possible with all clear is about 3.300.000 / 3.500.000. But there is a infinite pattern on last Boss, so this game is banned.

Blazing Star: (peplos) with this ship is possible 100.000.000+ (after 99.999.900 score is zeroed and restart) because Peplos fireshot is the strongest in the game and is possible infinite pattern during last form of the last Boss. I found a old score of 60.023.820 without infinite pattern, but this ship is banned.

Captain Tomaday: 99.999,99 infinite pattern.

Darius II: all scores banned for bug, except route down V (2 screen and 3 screen version).

Darius Gaiden: all scores banned for bug.

Dogyuun: banned because loop 5 is not playable for bug.

Fantasy zone: banned for infinite pattern. Exception for counter stop + no miss.

Ghost Pilots: infinite pattern in some Boss areas.

KYUUKYOKU TIGER: infinite pattern in final Boss area.

Sengeki Striker: infinite pattern

Side Arms: infinite pattern os stage 3. I found a score of 3.946.500 with comment "infinite pattern not use".

Last I checked Strania leaderboards (no Side Vower), top Normal score was 15,687,400 by "momo412", and top Hard 16,502,790 by "SloshyScroll07". No idea who these guys might be, but SloshyScroll07 is typical XBL name generator fare.

The DOJ score is below the world record as well, but thankfully we know HFD is still working on this.

Thanks for the scores, marus.

It doesnt look like any of those scores beat the high scores as listed here, but still interesting to see.

If people want to see records for each ship type for any Cave games, EOJ has a thread at his site with updates.

Not to derail the thread but I've been wondering for a while what exactly does Arcadia cover? Is it just a catalogue of arcade high scores?

It's basically a magazine dedicated to arcade games. The high score table is just a small feature of the magazine - most of it consists of news and strategies for the latest arcade games, as well as interviews with both players and developers.

I like how you added Wyvern Wings there.

Any idea if a Korean magazine might have a Wyvern Wings score? I can't find any data for the game on Nico, YT or super-play. There is a post on daum (host to the S99 WR player) that mentions it, though. Help reading Korean might be appreciated since my skills with it are poor.
