SD: R-Type III stage 4 boss insta-gib

I'm not sure how many people have actually struggled with this boss, but I had a helluva hard time dealing with it myself. Managed to work out a little strategy that takes it down before it can even make a full screen rotation. Takes a bit of timing, but it's well worth skipping over the nauseating mode 7 background in full throttle.

That was cool. Was this US or JP version? I know this guy is a real pain in the JP version, much higher HP.

US ver, I can only imagine how much more frustrating this thing would be if it were drawn out any longer. Just in case anyone's wondering, the trick does still work with the other force devices as I almost managed to pull it off with the shadow force, but I failed the timing being unfamiliar with the weaponry.

Me and R-Type 3 are not on "speaking terms" right now; i discovered that if you do "too well" (survive, remain fully powered-up) for too long, it will throw little "pot-shots" at you; change-up some "ground-based" turret attack patterns - things of that nature.

Not cool.

But, thanks for that strategy vid. Probably will help one day.
