Mushihimesama (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Mushihimesama (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Just announced on Cave's FB page. A trailer is up on YouTube, but I can't figure put how to link it from my iPad.

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Interesting choice localizing the title... I don't think "Bug Princess" sounds all that nice in English, but whatevs. Cool that it's coming out, I hope Cave makes lots of money.
Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Mushi, not Futari. And yes, it's rather confusing, showing Futari and then announcing the original title.

Hm... it appears you're correct. I guess the English trailer is just wrong (see text at 0:42). Very confusing announcement.
Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Yeah, Mushihimesama on iOS, i'm gonna buy this.
I sort of want to see if they are gonna put Futari on iOS too
And Ibara... Or any of the other SH3 games for that matter.

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
So they released bug panic as mushihimesama bug panic but now their calling mushihimesama, bug princess? Why not stick with mushihimesama considering bug panics already out?

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
There's now a new trailer, as the old one is blocked (apparently the original trailer featured what Cave has told me is "a confusing description".
Here's the new official trailer. [EDIT: Looks very Futari-related to me] [EDIT 2: I take it back - it's still confusing. It appears to trail Bug Panic followed by Bug Princess 2 (Futari-related). Is it that Bug Princess 2 is effectively 'Bug Panic 2'?]
A new press release was sent to us press just now too (like the trailer, a press release came out, was marked incorrect, and replaced by a corrected one). I just need to check some details, and then I'll post it here.

Good lord here we go again 50 different names for a game with one well established name for it already.
Anyways I believe this is a nice little indication of a Mushihime+1.5 360 port in maybe February.

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Nice!
I´m a bit over touchscreen gaming at the moment, but I´m excited for this anyways. I enjoyed Deathsmiles but the horizontal orientation made it really awkward to play - DDP:R and EspII were much better to control.
I never really got into the scoring system of Mushi at all, doesn´t it involve elaborate and precise buttontapping? Can´t see this system translate well with touch buttons at all. But for pure survival play it will be great, and I hope they will create a nice iPhone mode (oops - SMARTPHONE mode!) again. In any case, that giant battleship bug in stage 3 will look great
I couldn´t stand playing the PS2 port at all, only since it´s been recently emulated have I started enjoying it for the Garegga sequel it is. But Ibara is such a fiddly game that I don´t see it working on iOS at all. Of all the Yagawa games, the only title I see working well on a smartphone would be Muchi Pork, but given how relatively unpopular this title was (not that I understand this at all, but whatever) I don´t see it being a priority.
On a sidenote, I´m really curious how that PS Vita CAVE shmups is going to be. Ports are nice, but having a CAVE portable that is a) completely developed for a handheld and b) has buttons for a change really interests me. (Maybe they will port this to 3DS as well - I´m going to buy one for Mario 3D Land and Mariokart 7

You're talking about the original Mushihimesama, CAVE are releasing Mushihimesama Futari, the 2006 sequel to that game.Frederik wrote:Nice!

There's no rhythmic button tapping involed in Futari, just one of the best, and most flexible scoring systems ever both in original difficulty and on maniac/god

Thanks for the detailed info, Spadgy

I'm sure CAVE will continue milking iOS for all its' worth, hence they are releasing the Mushi games in order (i.e. I we'll see iOS futari within 18 months).
Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Maybe it's just me (I know, it's just me), but Bug Princess sounds pretty clunky.
Feedback will set you free.

that trailer blows. Didn't actually show anything.
This is cool, CAVE is bringing ESPgaludaII and DFK both with new modes to Android.

too fucking bad I just got a new non-smartphone because I'm a cheap ass. I guess I'll have to get it for my girlfriends phone. She'll probably never let me play it though. She's addicted to Fruit Ninja (pretty sweet game though).

Terrible trailer, hopelessly confusing. However, I'm hoping for original Mushi, I think it has a really good pace (esp. maniac) for ios.

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Hmm, but in the first linker trailer, it showed the t-rex boss of mushi futari an stage 2 maniac of futari.
Edit: maybe it's a compilation, or some kind of mashup? Or maybe cave is just messing with our heads again. :p

The trailer simply showed bugpanic, then futari then unveiled "bug princess" for iphone. They should probably have shown mushihimesama gameplay before futari though.Drachenherz wrote:Hmm, but in the first linker trailer, it showed the t-rex boss of mushi futari an stage 2 maniac of futari.

I wonder what they'll be basing the port on. Better be a new port instead of being based on the PS2 one.

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Long past time for the thread title to be edited - it's definitely the original, not Futari.
I guess it's too early to get word of whether or not this is coming to Android anytime soon? Even though I already went and bought an iPad 2...

Re: Mushihimesama Futari (Bug Princess) next up for iOS
Based off Cave's recent drive to the Android platform I think it'd be foolish to not expect a Mushi port sooner or later. Probably be the next Android project the work on after the other ports.StarCreator wrote:Long past time for the thread title to be edited - it's definitely the original, not Futari.

The interview didn't say anything about Mushi Matsuri 1.5. That sentence was only talking about Akai Katana Limited Edition. I don't see Mushi Matsuri 1.5 even having "Limited" in its title or being mentioned in the interview. I'm not saying a port will happen but...
