Like most cave ports, you must play with default settings and not use Restart to get achievements.

And doesn't the clear achievement require a 2-all clear? Which would mean 1ccing at least the first loop with looping conditions then just feeding the loop if you can't handle it?

Regarding DDP Resurrection from NCSX:

"Hello, we expect our shipment to arrive on November 8-9 since the suppliers are shipping tomorrow from the UK. If we ship on November 8, you can expect the parcel on November 10. Thanks. "

Ha ha, Zavvi already shipped!

'Course, it'll take longer to get to the US.

Bullshit isn't it.. Americans will be playing the game for weeks before it comes out in other PAL territories.

Don't understand why they couldn't co-ordinate a proper EU launch in all the PAL regions at once.

I guess I don't understand the American hate here. Anyone on the planet that's not in the UK has to buy it in the same manner at this time.. that'd be an importer or UK retailer. What the fuck does that have to do with Americans?

Anyone that's in a PAL area that isn't the UK has to wait. It's understandable that people are annoyed when the game isn't reaching the intended audience before the unintended one.

Not really American "hate".. it's just that NTSC-U is the other western market so I describe it like that.

You got stuff like DeathSmiles way before us which was not playable on PAL consoles. You've got DS2X on GOD and we don't. Yeah I'm whinging but I'm in a shitty mood today.

It just sucks to get the short end of the stick that's all. I was not trying to imply any hatred towards anyone.

Gotcha.. Surely it couldn't be too expensive to grab a copy from the UK, aside from the taxes you guys have?

It would've been a few dollars cheaper actually. I was stupidly under the impression all the PAL regions would get it on the same day like most other localized titles but unfortunately this was not the case. :( It's not coming out here until the end of the month! (30th)

No import tax in AU luckily for goods under $1000 so next time I will definitely import, just wanted to support the local stores you know.

she didn't modify the settings from default afaik and she didn't restart. and i'm not onabout the true "clear". when i first played it through i sucked at it yet i still got the "Type A" and "Type C" achievements respectively per ship amongst the other achievements (element daughters etc).
It's about "realizing their actuality." And judging by the look on Jane's face, she's realized it a couple of times already.

I'm such an asshole I haven't even ordered the game yet. I'm still busy tidying up Dark Souls and Xenoblade.
By the time I'm done with those, DFK will probably have dropped a few pounds in price on Shopto.

Apologies to the publisher :|

I'm guessing publishing games across all PAL territories is a monumental task. There's also the small issue of translating the manual into several different languages for the the European market.

Sure, but they could have them dated differently. That was not the case, that's why many are pissed (including me). I would have placed my order on a UK shop, but now it's too late. Shipping from the UK to Germany usually takes 7 days.

Damn it! I'm French and Amazon.fr sent me an email saying it'll be shipped november 10
I should have bought it from Amazon.uk... But who would have known since they showed the same date!!
Now there's no snowball's chance in hell I'll be able to see my nick on the leaderboards.

Also, Americans (among others who imported it) playing it before the targetted customers sickens me a bit...

That's also the most retarded thing ever, certain countries refusing to learn other languages (no offense to anyone who might feel offended)

The translation thing is what has prevented us from getting a ton of great games, especially RPGs, over the past 20+ years. Generally, publishing games in Europe has been a much bigger job, not only because of business across borders, but the translation thing yeah, even if it only means translating the manual and box cover.
Personally I prefer having it all in English, which is another reason I'd never buy from a Danish store. Imagine getting what could be a future collector's object and everything on paper is in Danish or German. What kind of collector would buy that?

The time it takes for it to get here from the UK is probably the same time as it'll come out locally here. Was twice the time for me and Deathsmiles.

Oops. I had an old credit card on file with Zaavi. Fixed it, and I hope they'll ship mine soon. It'll take so long to get to Canada... might as well forget it for awhile.

Meantime I'll play it on iPhone :P

That is lame as fuck. Especially since I had chosen to preorder from Webhallen instead of Zavvi so I could just pick it up at Webhallen's store in town on release day, to get it faster.

C'est dommage, mais we ordered from the same shops you have access to :?

Gameplay has already sent my order, but it should take... 4-6 weeks for it to arrive :P

1cc'd 1.5 on my third try with B-Strong lol, this is maybe caves easiest game in terms of survival? Stage 5 is pretty nasty though but.. autobombs

Arrange A seems like a lot of fun, haven't tried black label properly yet.

edit: I can't seem to find a proper ST thread for dfk here?

If you are just trying to survive then strong is by far the easiest mode. It was originally locked on the PCB.

Power is more fun.

I'll probably cheese out some easy clears with all ships on Strong before switching to exclusively playing Power and thoroughly demoralizing myself.

Going for a 2-ALL with Strong is still a fun challenge. I think a normal 2-ALL is around a harder Cave 1-loop game in difficulty and an Ura clear should keep you busy for a while. You can't autobomb that much if you still have Hibachi to beat!

You can't hardly autobomb the first loop period if you want to even reach Hibachi. >.>

Enjoying black label a lot, that rank :3 also more item based, but I guess I'll warm up to the chaining in 1.5 eventually.

Arrange A seems pretty sweet too.

What's the point of switching between normal/boost on Power in 1.5? boss milking?

In hyper, canceling bullets with the boost shot raises the hyper gauge instead of the hit counter (except at midbosses, where boost gives you hits too), which is a huge help in scoring since you don't have to worry about recharging as much as with the other ships. The extra speed in normal mode also helps in some places, and being able to switch to lower laser power is useful in chaining. Generally though you will spend most of your time in boost mode.
