Does it matter that I don't have a legitimate copy of the game when it comes to setting this up? I plan on grabbing one soon.
Yes, you need a JP PSN account to purchase and download DT2nd and unlock keys to any DLC you've purchased for PJD2. You can play it with whichever account you want the trophies on once it's downloaded.

It's not supposed to work without a legitimate copy of PJD2 (the linker works by verifying the integrity of your save file).
Thanks. It looks like it looks for a unique UMD file of some sort. Got it. I'll have to buy a copy and rip it. I just don't like actually having any UMD's in my PSP when possible.

Just bought $80 in JP PSN points too. Guess those will go to iDOLM@STER 2 for now. :D

You could always just buy the game itself, it was offered as a PSN download too.

Vocaloid is worth only for some good artwork.

BTW Motoi Sakuraba rocks.

You mean IDOLM@STER 2? If it's anything like the first game, don't bother if your Japanese isn't fluent.

Thanks for the heads up. I prefer physical copies when possible. And i dont mind paying extra for one if necessary.
