Yakouga Taiken 4 is a hentai doujin shooter game developed by Artesneit. The scoring mechanism consists of bullet canceling, grazing to increase the value of canceled bullets, medal chaining, and destroying enemies' parts.

WARNING: The game contains explicit content. To disable the content, go to Config and choose the third item down with the ALL/OVER18 toggle, and select ALL. The gameplay won't be affected, but HCGs and naked bosses won't be triggered. Note that the game will still be NSFW.

A partial translation for the menu and its items are provided here (potentially NSFW).

For the patch, you can download it in the official site (NSFW).

Characters :
Nokundhi: The winged girl with white hair. Average movement speed with a spread shot while unfocused.
Tsukuyu: The girl with long, dark blue hair. Fast movement speed with a directed shot while unfocused.
Korosuke: The only guy. Fast movement speed with focused fistgun. Can only hold four bombs. Unlock by clearing normal mode.
Mahina: Red-haired witch. Fast movement speed and most powerful all-around at the cost of receiving only 1/10th the points during the stage. Unlock by 1cc-ing the game in any difficulty.
Marity: Bone dragon rider. Average movement speed with unfocused melee attack, can only hold three bombs. Unlock by 1cc-ing Normal using Korosuke.
Rigurigu: Pink-haired child witch. Has the slowest movement speed with an area-effect bomb while focused. Can only hold two bombs. Unlock by 1cc-ing Normal using Marity.

- Version 1.00 and 1.12 (1.02 will be accepted if there's any submission for it).
- Toggling enemy health bars is permitted, just state so in your submission.
- Providing screenshots and replays are not required, but you may include it with your submission.

Coming from someone who never tried the games by this company, the last few stages were a pleasant surprise. Too bad I suck ass at this system because I have no prior experience with it. At least there's no chaining. A little wary of the scores above the ones made by TC, especially Mahina with her handicap, but what's to say someone didn't discover an awesome gamebreaking trick.

Then the others have to be done again because I didn't know there was a reset button for just the scores. Probably since the online table will only take the highest. Hopefully I'll soon figure out the location of the hitbox so I can quit running sideways into bullets that I thought already cleared the character. Tsukuyu may be a scoring badass, but I still prefer Nokundhi (not because she's flatter...really).

P.S. This run sucked but I hit the bare minimum goal. On hold along with the other shot types and moving on to PCB Normal.

So can someone quickly explain the scoring?
I've got that destroying enemies cancels bullets for gold but that's as far as I've got :D
There's something very satisfying about those "cataracts of stars" to use someone else's quote about Crimzon Clover!

Listing
  • Grazing bullets builds up your bomb gauge (first bar at right side of the screen). Filling the bar to max will give you one bomb, and if your bomb stock is full, you get 20K bonus instead.
  • Also grazing bullets builds your graze gauge (second bar at right side of the screen) up to 255x (1000x in 1.03), so cancelled bullets worth more.
  • Destroying enemies optional parts before their core.
  • Chain Medalling. Medals will fly toward the character if shooting unfocused/not shooting. Up to crab value.
  • End stage bonuses. No bomb the stage will net 500K! 10K for each life stock and 5K for each bomb in stock.
