PSP Games? (Suggestions!)

Post by Casper<3 »

So I have 3rd Birthday and absolutely love it. Parasite Eve delivered Gears of War style, so dope!

I also recently picked up FF Tactics, Mega Man Powered + Maverick Hunter X Dual Pack, & Dissidia Duodecim. I have Guilty Gear AC+, Star Ocean, and Valkyrie Profile Lenneth in the mail.

What else is there, looking for some dope games, not just RPGs but action games, puzzle games, anything fun really. What all does the PSP library offer?

Darius Burst is ROCKING my world right now. I'm loving every minute of it, my favourite PSP game so far.

If I had a PSP I'd probably pick up Persona 1 and the Monster Hunter games, but I don't, so can't really tell you if they are great or not.

Well I only had mine briefly for a few months after launch before someone stole it from my frigging dorm room....

Wipeout Pure was a great game, if you're into the f-zero type of arcade racers. Untold legends is good for a mobile diablo fix. I immensely enjoyed dynasty warriors as well, but it was my first dynasty warriors, so I guess it depends on how you feel about that storied franchise.

Needless to say, porn-on-the-go is probably the best perk the system has to offer. 8)

My PSP recommendations (all domestic titles):

Patapon 1-3 (rhythm based action)
Every Extend Extra (sort of a shmup but you're a bomb)
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles (3D and original modes on there)
Half-Minute Hero (30 second RPG! hehe)
Loco Roco 1 and 2
Prinny 1 and 2 (Exploding Penguin action!)
Puzzle Quest (IMO the definitive version of the game)
Space Invaders Extreme
ZHP Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman (really)
Lumines 1 and 2
Riviera (almost an RPG...from Sting)
Yggdra Union (again almost an RPG from Sting)
Shadow of Destiny
Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins
Sega Genesis Collection (lots of goodies)
Capcom Classics Collection Remixed, Reloaded (both are pretty good)

RPGs:
Kingdom of Paradise
Legend of Heroes 1-3
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Crimson Gem Saga
Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection
Persona 3 Portable
Persona
Persona 2: Innocent Sin
Ys Seven (action)
Ys Oath in Felghana (action)
Ys I and II Chronicles (action)
Ys The Ark of Napishtim (action)
Star Ocean 1 and 2

Strategy/RPGs and straight Strategy:
Jeanne D'Arc
Hexyz Force
Popolocriois
R-Type Command
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (kinda broken)
Valkyria Chronicles II
What Did I Do To Deserve This My Lord 2 (yes, really)
Wild Arms XF

Ill probably pick up a PSP at some point and buy some of the best japanese games. On avaerage are the games cheap to buy or is there many rarer gems where im gonna get gouged to fuck on ebay/ amazon? I havnt gone though what games I wanna buy. Depending on price and how many I can buy new instead of 2nd hand from some collector. I might get one of those flash cards for the games no longer in print.

BTW whats the name of that DS/ PSP Srpg which has you controlling spirits? ppl say it feels like a shmup in places

That shmup-ish RPG is Knights in the Nightmare...also available on DS.

I'd say most PSP games are pretty cheap and most of em are still available new (or sealed on eBay) at reasonable prices. I buy em and leave em sealed myself...modded my PSP and I just DL the games to it and play em on a 16GB Memory Card Duo rather than opening my PSP games.

Right, I finally got around to doing that lite-CFW thing on my PSP-3000 recently. Dumped all my UMDs to a Memory Stick and life is pretty good. I don't know why I played some of these RPGs from UMD when I could have had a much smoother experience running them from MS. I did download some ISOs here and there, but I was never sure if they had been compressed or otherwise F-ed around with, so I always preferred to used my own dumps which I know for sure are clean and full.

Most of the good titles have been mentioned already, but I thought I ought to suggest the DJMax Portable series, if you want to try some rhythm game.
