Well, he played all runs all the way through, continuing until the end, so the credits probably didn't last that long.

Interview translated on gamengai. I believe it was a few hours a day for about 7 months. One of the Futari Ultra guys (Yusemi?) said he spent 150,000 yen on Futari the first month it was out.
Damn. That much (over $1500) would likely have gone a long way toward buying his own Futari PCB. With that sort of cash, I'd buy the PCB to practice at home and come to the arcades to kick ass.
