I got rid of my Famicom, and PC-Engine collection (for some stupid reason) but hung on to the Saturn & Arcade flyers. I've got stacks.

Yes sir. Hellfire is not a Masaya game, but a Toaplan game.

It was published by Masaya for the Genesis. They were going to publish it for the PC Engine as a HuCard, but it didn't happen. ADV published it instead.

You'll notice that Masaya is listed as the publisher for Battletoads in Japan, even though it's a Rare game.

According to Wikipedia, Hellfire was published by Seismic Software Inc. What source did you get Masaya as the publisher?

Seismic for USA, Sega Europe for Europe, and Masaya for Japan.

Thougy Masaya published Hellfire in Japan, going by the interview that GP translated it seems that Toaplan still developed the port themselves.

Sorry, I meant to say that Masaya published Hellfire for the Japanese Megadrive, not Genesis.

It's no different than Atlus publishing Psikyo and Cave games for the Saturn.

OK, I'm finally making progress with the Masaya website.

First thing's first, do you think it's Masaya or Masiya? It can go both ways, so it's confusing.

I'm slowly adding game pages to this. Here's what I have so far.

Does anyone have Assault Suits Valken for the PS2? I haven't played it.

Ha, I've never noticed that the logo could be ambiguous like that. But in addition to a few title screen/credits I'm sure, the link of the official site spells it as 'Masaya': http://www.e-xtreme.jp/masaya/

Thanks for the link! I'll have to add a link to their site. I was not aware of this site, and it looks like it's there for virtual console purposes. There used to be an official Masaya site on the NCS homepage, but I had to search through webarchive.org to find information and images from those defunct pages. IIRC, that site was called Masaya too. It's just ambiguous, and I see a lot of people calling it Masiya and even Misaya sometimes. The katakana would lead me to believe that it reads "messiah."

Thanks! It's taking a lot of time to slowly build this page, and I've been discovering new games to add to the list while searching Japanese websites. Gamefaqs.com has an NCS listing of games too. I've found a lot of games this way. I'm learning a lot about this company!

Big thanks to Segagaga Domain and the PC Engine Software Bible for the use of images and such!

Some of these are high res.

The links to the games actually don't work ATM. Something for me to fix.
The flyers should be somewhat hard to come by at that res on the interwebs.
Hey GP, can you send me those files as a zip file or something? Or maybe fix the links? Pretty please?

OK guys, here's a bit of what has happened in the past year. There's a guy on the Racketboy forum who was willing to help design a fabulous-looking website. He said he was trying to get a job in web design, so he was willing to put together a cool-looking site, complete with a custom-made logo, for a small fee.

What I got looked fantastic, but the way he had made it became cumbersome to try to make individual pages for each game because he was using very advanced HTML with classes and such that I do not have experience with. He made a title page with dropdown menus for each section: consoles, handhelds, and computers. But having the game lists for each platform pop up under those in a sub dropdown became extremely ugly, and that sub dropdown was very slippery and elusive to my mouse cursor. So, I ditched it.

Take a look at it: http://stevethefish.net/masaya/index.htm For now, just click on the Mega CD and see how it works for now. I will continue working on it.

Incidentally, how was their Devil Hunter Yohko game?
(And is it Genesis/MD or PCE?)

Masaya's Devil Hunter Youko games on the PC Engine are digital comic/graphic adventures (sorta like Snatcher, but not really). The one for the Megadrive looks like a real Valis-style action platformer, and I would like to get it someday!

Just a random idea... maybe you could ask benstylus and have your site hosted on Game Tribute.

Nah, I like it where it is. I pay for the server space, so I'm set.
