Winds of Thunder for PC Engine. I asked my son what shooter he would take, and he said Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Apparently having access to as many shmups as he does has taught him absolutely nothing, especially when he knows what "shooter" means to me. He does like Metal Slug, unlike his 3D- and FPS-obsessed friends, so I can cut him a little slack, I suppose.

Living alone on a deserted island I'd have enough on my hands surviving, let alone finding enough time to play shmups. During those short periods I'd want something quick, satisfying and a sufficiently different challenge each time I play. Ibara fits the bill perfectly.

I would take space invaders, or maybe asteroids, so that when I realized I had no readily available source of power I would be stuck with a game that I didn't care about and wouldn't resent not being able to play terribly much.

If I was able to include JSS and CS into the mix, then my choices would be narrowed down to Eschatos and Shooting Love 200X <3 I think Shooting Love might win by a narrow margin because of the extra minigames
