What I mean is: Is there any kind of program that can give you scanlines on your monitor, without being in an emulator? So you could have scanlines with games like Jamestown or Noitu Love 2? I doubt there is, but I thought i'd ask.
Any hardware that would do this?
Scanlines...any way to have them, without being in-game?

Alternatively, get an SDTV and use it as your computer monitor. Then you'll have scanlines all the time, whether you like it or not!

I keep meaning to try this ... my video card has s-video out, and can also do component with a breakout cable. I'm not so sure I can do 480i output though ... will probably take a lot of mucking around the nvidia control panel.Blackbird wrote:Alternatively, get an SDTV and use it as your computer monitor. I have a 27" Toshiba SD CRT with component input, and so far have only tried PS2 on it which looks fucking fantastic. I'm hoping I can get similar results from MAME from my PC.

Ok giddy up, just found a 720x480@29Hz (480i) display mode ...
Too bad the sides of the TV aren't flat ... I don't think TATE is option

Boo no joy ... drivers want to default to 1080i, and won't switch to any other res ...
Picture looks great while my computer boots, but when Windows loads and the video drivers kick in, it switches to an HD resolution and things go south.
Read some reports from other people that can't enable 480i when using component ... I'm sure there's a way to force it.
