How do I select stages on 1942 (Capcom Generations)? Help!!!

Hi guys. I'm quite a fan of 1942 and have been playing it on the Capcom Generations compilation. It says in the manual that you can select stages and save data. However, I cannot see any stage select opto=ions. Is it possible to 'carry on where you left off'? I really hope so because there are 32 stages and that this rate I'll never finish it unless I leave my PS2 on all day and spend the day playing it!

Also, similar info for 1943 and 1943 Kai would be much appreciated!

IIRC you need to turn off continues in the option menu in order to get the stage select option.

Ok, thanks Zach... But, once I've switched off 'contine', then what? Do I save it? Where do I find the stage select option?

You should then get the stage select anytime you start a game.
