Pic was taken on my phone so sorry about the quality. Has a 32" lcd and will have a SLG 3000 inside

I called it V -Cade , which is short for Vertical Arcade.
Many 32" LCDs don't play well with the SLG because the tend to have bad upscaling - especially ones with HD-Ready resolution only. Which 32" LCD have you used ?Has a 32" lcd and will have a SLG 3000 inside
no, it would probably be cheaper to just get another (Full HD) LCD. Give it a try if you like. Not all HD-Ready LCDs are bad at scaling (most though) and let us know how it looks once you get the SLG3000.Is there anything i can put in between the slg and the TV like a upscalier of some sort?
What's so bad about the built-in scanlines of mame itself?J3SteR82 wrote:Well all I plan on doing was running my name PC through the slg then to the TV. Will take pics when its up and running in a few weeks.

Would you even be able to get a 4:3 lcd screen in this day and age?BPzeBanshee wrote:Is having a widescreen TV a good idea though? I know MAME allows for aspect ratio options to maintain aspect with black bars on top/bottom but some other games might just stretch across the lot.

Unless you plan on doing something silly like Akai Katana TATEd?
That kinda sucks, but at least now with the HDMI cable quality should be guaranteed, not that it's a huge deal with arcade games.J3SteR82 wrote:BPzeBanshee wrote:Wow, that looks nice!

Well since im not going to be using the slg 3000 i picked up, now i can hook it up using my hdmi cable. Through the catalyst control center i should be able to set my aspect ratio and or change the screen size to my needs so it wont be a problem. But you can only do that with a digital signal and since im using hdmi now it wont be a problem.. When i used the slg 3000 with my vga cable i could not change the screen through ccc , i was forced to rely on emulators that had the option to do so.

Awhile back I compaired the aspect ratio screen to that of a 27" crt and the LCD screen area was just about the same size. If not a hair bigger if I remember. So figure this is the equivalent between a 27" and 29" crt...alastair jack wrote:Is it just me or does that 32" screen look too small?
Most emulators have a scalelines option built in. They look just as good as the slg 3000 when set up right. Down side is some emulators don't have a option. But yes IMO they look good.alastair jack wrote:do the scanlines look ok on that screen?
