First of all I included the never before updated scores by MR_Soren, Pasta and Kollision. I have no scores saved, haven´t played the game in about a year I think. So I´ll play it again sometime in the near future
I finished the 3rd loop once (beginning on normal) although I don´t know anymore if it was a 1CC.

Just made my first try... I played awful on normal and much better on hard. So I could even advance to the 3rd loop, but when I defeated the stage 1 boss, the background becomes white and the game freezes...

Damn glitch, I still had 3 lives left :x
My final score was:

Battletoad - 1,453,490 - 3-1

You´re welcome!

I played again today, everything turned out extremely good, but I totally screwed up the 6th stage on hard and hardest difficulty. I had a good chance to at least see the final boss on the last loop, but the rockets and scissors destroyed me...
But at least no glitch this time :)

normal
Battletoad - 1,945,890 - 3-6

The bad and weird thing is that my digicam won´t work right now, although it did work an hour ago...
For now I just took a photo with the terrible camera of my mobile phone, I´ll put it online some time.

EDIT: My camera came back to the land of the living. I hadn´t turned off the console so here´s the photo:

Just for having a score on hard mode:

Battletoad - 562,440 - 1-6

I won´t continue to play an hard for now because it´s impossible for me there to beat the last loop. That might be possible if I start on normal.

Ahh nice score!

I miss Axelay, haven't played it in forever  Really need to find another copy sometime. (Sold my earlier one... seemed like a good idea at the time  )

Thanks!
Your score is also a really great effort. When I had passed stage 3-4 I still hadn´t reached your score, so it seems you have killed more enemies

I hope you can get another copy soon :)

I need to get an SNES console with 60 Hz function in the next time. Right now, I´m just playing my PAL version of Axelay on 50 Hz which is for sure an advantage over most or all other players here. When I can afford such a console, I would see how far I can get there and replace the score (even if it is lower)... for the fairness
Additionally, it´s not so great to play the games slower as they are meant to be...

Marble - 168,260 - 1-3 (Normal)

Just got the game a couple of days ago and have only had a few credits. I too am playing the PAL version.

EDIT: Marble - 333,340 - 1-5 (Normal)

Haha, this game is pretty easy. I got to the stage 5 boss, I should have cleared the first loop pretty soon.

Same problem as I had it several times. Very frustrating glitch...
You played the US version? I had assumed that the problem may just be in the PAL version.

Score updated.

No Glitch This Time!

Fogelmir - 2,054,390 - 3-6
Normal

I think the picture speaks for itself. I died on the last boss loop 3, when it spits out all of those yellow spinning things.

Congratulations! And still 4 extra lives left
Looks like I have have to get a modded SNES soon. I want to All the game, too... but not on PAL speed.

Picture for the hard mode would be nice, but not necessary. And maybe you´ll finish it there, too ;)

All scores updated.

IIRC, Hard mode is identical to starting at the second loop of Normal (likewise with Easy: the second loop is identical to Normal).

Anyone know if the PAL version of this glitches at 60HZ? Thinking of getting this for my modded SNES and the PAL version will probably be easier to get.

New score:

Kollision - 1,683,070 - 3-4 - Normal

This came a bit unexpected... At least now I've seen the 3rd loop, I might come back to it one day!

Another new score

Richter3456- 2156440
I started on normal difficulty and played all the way through to the third loops and got the best ending.

moozooh - 988,050 - 2-4 (pic).

Playing this at 60 fps and trigger speed 3 is harder than how I used to do it as a child! On the other hand, I haven't really played this game in like 15 years, so it's only a matter of time before I get to the third loop, heh.

Cool, some new submissions. I also still need to play this on 60 Hz and then delete my old score, but time is not my friend lately.

And sorry for totally overlooking your scorepost, Salamibrodel. Don't know how exactly I've missed it.

Why is changing trigger speed not allowed, btw? That's basically configuring the autofire rate already built into the game.

Because I thought the damage boost would be too much of an advantage...
If you want me to allow it, I might reconsider. I basically haven't played other games with customizable autofire rate to be honest, so don't know if this is considered to change the default options or just a thing of preference.

If you want to use other trigger speed, please post it with your score.

Axelay becomes Konami-hard on the second loop. And by that I mean woefully annoying as shit just doesn't die in time. :D The damage boost really is a huge advantage in this game, much like in Darius Gaiden.
