Practice - Roll
Shepardus - 14,590,610 - 12X - Keyboard - -window

I played a session of Practice - Roll the other night. Didn't record what parsec I got to but I know from the start options available that it was in the 120s. I thought I was doing well but some of the scores here are insane. I played some normal/hard/extreme today but didn't do well at all in any of those. I had some old scores for this too, but they must not have been any good seeing as I didn't bother saving them when cleaning up my games folder like I did with rRootage.

NAME - SCORE - STAGE - CONTROL TYPE - PROGRAM OPTIONS

Normal Roll
A7A - 22,704,670 - 140 - keyboard - -window

Normal Lock
A7A - 21,738,810 - 158 - keyboard - -window

Hard Roll
A7A - 18,255,370 - 98 - keyboard - -window

Hard Lock
A7A - 15,741,010 - 98 - keyboard - -window

Extreme Roll
A7A - 13,944,940 - 72 - keyboard - -window

Extreme Lock
A7A - 13,894,030 - 80 - keyboard - -window

Now, let's see about that change to retro-bits mega drive controller. ^^

Edit:

Practice Roll
A7A - 17,179,620 - 12X - retro-bit megadrive - -window

Edit 2: Man my brain actually prefers the slower pace of practice mode, for the first time since I played the game like 15 years ago. Cool.

Practice Lock
A7A - 19,088,550 - 168 - retro-bit megadrive - -window

Edit 3:

Practice Roll
A7A - 31,419,080 - 217 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window

So the cool thing is that around parsec 170ish, it doesn't feel like it becomes more difficult, because the bullets become faster (and slowdown kicks in) and thus get out of the way quicker, resulting in a very nice and managable pace - when you're a dodge God that be in da zone, that is. I imagined I felt similarily with my new extreme record, and basically I died from mistakes rather than my regular WHOA BULLETS HOW AM I EVER GONNA CLEAR THIS IT'S SO UNFAIR that is often very prevalent at maybe parsec 50-70. What's your experience, do you also find this kind of turning point, or is it just me turning it up at some point?

Practice Lock
A7A - 19,864,660 - 167 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Extreme Roll
A7A - 15,269,810 - 78 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Edit 4:

Normal Roll
A7A - 23,387,860 - 148 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Extreme Lock
A7A - 15,432,730 - 86 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Edit 5:

Practice Lock
A7A - 23,996,680 - 198 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Extreme Lock
A7A - 16,373,630 - 96 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Extreme Roll
A7A - 23,464,240- 100 - Retro-Bit 8-button Mega Drive Controller - -window -nosound

Video of extreme roll score. Parsec 51-61 still my sticking point (in extreme roll) and where I die most of the time, because slowdown hasn't kicked in yet, but if I get through that, chances are basically as high for me to reach 81-90 as 71-80. In a normal run I think 109 is the furthest I've come, which I came to with 23,3mil, so scoring-wise this run wasn't bad for me, 2,3 mil/stage.
