I rekindled my love for Super Metroid Sound In Action today.

Other than that, VGM has been pretty sparse in my life lately. : (

Xenoblade soundtrack, really memorable stuff. Highly anticipated release for me.

A sampling from each composer:
Yoko Shimomura - Colony 9
Manami Kiyota - Sator, Phosphorescent Land / Night
ACE+ - Gaur Plains
Sarah Àlainn, Yasunori Mitsuda - Beyond the Sky = Mitsuda's only track.. I feel cheated. :|

Even better is the instance of Day/Night tracks:
Manami Kiyota - Eruyt Sea
Manami Kiyota - Eruyt Sea / Night

Gotta get this soundtrack soon.
I haven't actively browsed/used this forum in many years and it's no longer an accurate representation of me.

I have retired from genre-specific content creation after 13 years, but I'll always love this little genre in my own personal way.

Flight of the Zinger (DKC2) is a classic.
Most of the Shadow Hearts series has really damn good music. (Yasunori Mitsuda worked on it.)
Nice piece from Alundra
Iji is a great game, and the music is rough but definitely worth your time.
VVVVVV. That is all.

Been listening to the Akai Katana soundtrack lately. I should probably stop, I don't want to get sick of it before I actually get the game.

Killer 7 has one of the best soundtracks ever! My personal favorite is the track "Dissociative Identity". You know, the one that plays at the end? :)

Steel Squad, the ORIGINAL version.

I believe I'm the first to upload it actually, all the other versions on YouTube are SSH's remixes.

Forgot to mention this, but the DLC has some nice remixes as well, if you haven't heard them yet. I don't think they're included on the two-disc OST.

But yeah, Nier's OST is superb. Probably the best of this generation.

Once I've seen the game's intro, I jizzed all over my friend's TV. From that moment I was totally definite in getting a PS2. And that's the reason I got it. Killer opening (and song) to a killer game

jizzed all over my friend's TV.
That's funny, because the intros to both ZOE games made me jizz all over my television set.

I think there's something wrong with us.

But seriously, that game was like waking up from a bad dream of mediocre games to find a shiny gem. I hope they make a third game. Kojima is being a prick by dangling the concept over the heads of his fans, with no sign of dedication to the project beyond a superficial "I like my series. A third should be made". UH... RELEASE DATE PLZ!

Recently I busted out my snes and played Lufia II so I've had boss music in my head. Imo it's the best boss music on the snes, RPG wise. As a kid I was like, "Wow this music is really epic for fighting a lizard man." That was the first boss in the game. :|

Boss
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45uvU1ta8WE

Honorable mention
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbQL_b18Wzc

This music plays when Maxim is trying to stop the Death Fortress from falling on top of the town where his baby son is sleeping. Sacrificing himself to save his child, after his wife died from the last boss, made the song fit really well.

This game had a really nice story, with characters having a lot of personality for snes days.

I like the FM versions of some of the tracks better than what's on the CD, but nonetheless the Pier Solar team did an excellent job with their "enhanced soundtrack". :D

Otomedius X - "Dark Cherry" (Metal Slave's Theme)
Fun electronic remix of Hikaru and Akane's Theme from the Parodius series. Liked it so much, I made it a looping ringtone.

I've been trying to get decent at Wolf Fang again, and I've really dug the music. Perfect accompaniment to putting spiked metal fists through APCs, sliding down mountainsides and generally being a badass 80s mech pilot. "CROSS FIRE" has particularly nice chugging guitars and booming synths, but there's not a bad track in there. Even the name entry jingle "GREATEST KNIGHTS" is killer! You just can't type these song titles without caps.

Also lots of Silent Hill 2 & 3 OSTs, although they're more perennial favourites of mine. I considered the latter inferior for a long time, until I chopped out all its vocal tracks. Massive improvement... it's incredibly enveloping without the distraction. Nothing against the singers (except Joe Romersa), but Yamaoka's instrumentals were a thousand times more evocative of their games' moods than anything he put vocals over.

A remix of my favorite level from Sonic Spinball, "The Machine". Almost dubstep-like.
And all of the soundtrack from Oboro Muramasa. Sakimoto and friends have created a masterwork of haunting, euphoric tracks.

Soundtrack to Bible Black is so moody, especially the intro. Lots of strings and choir "aahs", which I am quite partial to.

Monster Tale for DS is seriously too awesome for words.

Beautiful graphics, delicious old-school Metroidvania gameplay and a killer sound track

This is the only song I could find on the 'tubes:
