Psyvariar 2
Re: Psyvariar 2
Congratulations Third-strike. Truly extraordinary work. I'd be really interested to know where the score is coming from - is it the second stage of gluon? That was the only bit I never quite managed to master, given that I had no 'stage select' option to practice while playing the Xbox version.
Sadly folks, my Xbox died 2 months ago, meaning my chances of getting back to number one on this scoreboard would be limited to emulators, whose scores are 'dubious' at best.
With it, I also lost the full-game replays I'd kept (one a perfect run, no lives lost, including gluon, the other the run that I submitted my score for).
Once again, congrats Third_strike. I seriously wasn't aware such scores were even possible until you took this thing apart.
~Sylph.
ps. All you shooting-type players... Get with the buzz guys! Psyvariar 2 just isn't the same game without the buzz craziness and wave control!

Yes good part of score came from second stage of gluon, milked it until the end. But skiped the first stage.
Cool!

I'm necromancing this thread in hopes of getting more people to play. Of course, even if they don't I still have some worthy competitors I hope to defeat. Third Strike is really fucking great at this game, but I won't let his score intimidate me.

I'll give it my best shot!! Very impressive score, BTW. This is one of my favorite games to play for score.

Let me know if I can assist you and get sure my score is easier than it seems to beat.

I've still got a ways to surpass Enhasa's score. I'm beginning to realize how crucial it is to unlock all of the stages on "hard."

I would love to know some tricks to help me score higher, thanks! Where are the places in the game (besides Gluon) that you get the most points from?Let me know if I can assist you and get sure my score is easier than it seems to beat.

Nothing in this game can match Gluon regards points. First thing to do is get and learn the second stage of Gluon, the rest is refinement. Naturally you will need level, please then say me two things:
Are you playing roll button ON or OFF?
Have you replays? How many?

Re: Psyvariar 2
I'm definitely using the roll button, yes.
As for your second question, I don't understand it. Are you asking if I've seen professional replays of people playing the game? If so, then yes. I have seen only areas 0 and 3 played by Saur on Youtube. Getting to at least level 50 in area 0 is crucial for me.

This need help you: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8PN8URF8 I take this from nicovideo.
Use roll button will only help you at keep rolling and move fast (tapping roll button), but you still will need do perfect vertical and horizontal to get more buzz.
The perfect I say is:
- Vertical: UP-DOWN, UP-DOWN, UP-DOWN, UP-DOWN, UP-DOWN (without tap LEFT or RIGHT directions).
-Horizontal: LEFT-RIGHT, LEFT-RIGHT, LEFT-RIGHT, LEFT-RIGHT (without tap UP or DOWN directions).
Any notes to you:
- Watch learn control your neutrino gauge. You should know the amount of neutrino necessary in each situation in game. Here is 90% of game.
- After level up, just before your shield go away the bullets will start at collide in your hit box, use this hit box collision to destroy bullets (this is useful mainly in bosses).
In future mark your problems in replay's time and let me know.

Re: Psyvariar 2
I had a good run, with some really stupid deaths. Thanks for the excellent superplays, guys! They help a lot. My main goal right now is to cram in as many points as possible, as early in the game as possible. I am succeeding so far in this regard.

Thanks for the tips, third_strike! I have indeed noticed an improvement in my buzzing after implementing your technique, and I'm milking the fuck out of the bosses with them.
Say, what is your typical score before reaching Gluon? That way, I'll be able to separate how many points I need to earn before Gluon, and how many points I should get from just Gluon, in order to beat your score. I still got quite a ways ahead of me before that can happen, though.

How is this possible...? I thought the levels and the buzzing were closely related. Like, if you're at a certain level (let's say, Lv. 15), then your buzz chain will always be around 300. If anything, he should be getting more buzz because of the strict red neutrino gauge during boss battles, which you obviously spend a lot of time milking.Third_Strike! Wow! And you haven't even got the highest Buzz level.

I played this at 1,5 years ago then I can't remember my best scores. I will look for it later, I guess which Psyvariar saves your best stage scores in result table.
Re: Psyvariar 2
It's been far too long since we had a score here. Somebody must be playing this superb game!
