RIP -- Ryan Dunn

Post by Vyxx »

According to TMZ, Ryan Dunn, the star of several MTV shows such as Jackass and Viva La Bam has died in a car crash this morning. His passenger in the vehicle was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The West Goshen Township Police Department says officers found Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 "off the road and in the woods" and “fully engulfed in flames” in Pennsylvania.
The star Tweeted a picture of himself and 2 friends drinking what appears to be alcohol, 3 hours before the crash.

You may have different morals and make some better decisions in your own life, but the fact still remains that an overall good human being, loved by many has died well before he should have.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't bother coming into a RIP thread then, you prick.

Good human beings die everyday, it doesn't make me care any more than usual just because it's some guy from the TV who got famous for doing moronic things like stuffing a toy car up his own arsehole.

Like Stormwatch, I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. I'm just glad he didn't take out any innocent motorists along with him.

He killed himself and a passenger doing something that could've also killed someone in a second car.. I'm having trouble feeling that sympathetic. But then again, I was never a fan either.

sucks he died. I feel bad for the dude. IF he had killed some innocent drivers or pedestrians then that would be different. I guess it's just lucky that he didn't.

Seriously, I did not idolize the guy whatsoever, I merely watched some shows he was in when I was younger, and now he died tragically so I made a RIP thread.

Is it below you to show sympathy for a human being losing his life?

some people have a very strong reaction to drunk driving. Knowing how the Jackass dudes love to party he was likely pretty drunk (I'm not talking 3 or 4 beers here) and could have seriously fucked up some other people's lives forever. I don't think it's that unreasonable to be pissed off about it.

I completely understand the fact that many people (including me) are highly against drunk driving, but a man lost his life at way to young of an age. If you disliked him or what he did to get famous, fine, but coming into his RIP topic just to say "fuck you" is not appropriate and you just might have other feeling when people show up to piss on your grave.

Yes'm. Because we are conscious of our surroundings when we shuffle off of this mortal coil.

Well, I guess if you're a zombie you could. But I heard through the 'ol grapevine that they don't exist.

EDIT: Oh no, wait. Yes, yes they do. I forgot.

One of my friends nearly killed himself drink driving when he was younger so I am always conflicted when it comes to this type of thing. It is a really stupid thing to do and being such a selfish, unthinking moron that you could potentially harm or kill innocent people is incredibly fucked up and wrong. On the other hand, people make mistakes (although that can hardly justify killing an innocent bystander) and it is always sad when people die.

RIP I guess.

Sick burn, augh, my feelings. Yeah I bought my "dolls" with the money which I worked for, not money lovingly thrown at me for acting like a complete douche on American television. Like shoving a toy car up his ass and getting paid for it.

He's not even a good person; good people don't drink and drive with passengers. In the process he's taken another life and destroyed his expensive, undeserved Porsche with the chance of crashing into another innocent car/pedestrian.

Even if the crash wasn't because of drink driving, he is still drink driving with passengers.

Look at this bullshit:

Fucking rednecks will do anything for air time. I do realize that people need to know if it's actually a hoax, since Jackass is capable of stooping that low, but they could have waited, oh, I don't know, longer than a day?

This isn't even about "drink" driving. What is the life of an American redneck celebrity? Booze and drugs, partying till 5 am? You don't have to be famous, popular, rich or attractive to be a "good person". It's not below me to show sympathy for a human being losing his life, it's below me to show sympathy for a complete imbecile causing an accident which could have been prevented. I'm glad he didn't take out another car, but it's sad to hear about his friend. The road needs less idiots like this guy.

Edit: vvvvvvvv yeah, drink driving seems to be a local term here.

When I heard the news I thought he died while doing one of those crazy Jackass stunts. Actually I'm surprised the rest of the Jackass crew is still alive and kicking despite everything they've done.

As for Ryan, well, didn't really know him other than he stuffed toy cars up his ass and nearly killed himself years ago flipping over a golf cart. RIP I guess.

I was going to mention natural selection but you beat me to it.

Never really understood the appeal of these moronic shows but I guess I am a bit below the age demographic they are shooting for. I remember my little brother showing me a bit of the first movie and thinking that it had a very strong homo-erotic undertone going on.

I liked the Jackass movies so it sucks to see him die, but at the same time it's just incredibly fucking stupid to drive 100+mph on those West Chester roads. That's what I find irritating. People shit out "DRUNK DRIVING!" when it wasn't the drink that killed him, it was the stupidly irresponsible driving. If the reports are true and he only had 3 light beers and 3 shots, I'd pretty much guarantee him falling under the legal limit and, depending on his tolerance and over what time period he had those drinks, probably not very intoxicated at all. People want to lay it on drinking when it's more likely old fashioned driving like an asshole.

I think pretty much anyone would be at least over the limit with 3 beers and 3 shots. Light beers aren't much lower in alcohol, and a shot is equivalent to about a beer. Though that's not to say that it's not easy to kill yourself driving at over 100MPH anyway-- that's pretty much as irresponsible as driving under the influence. Combine the two and your odds of getting into a fatal crash I'm sure go up a lot.

Related: a friend of a friend once partied one night, and then sobered up.. him and his friend left to drive a few hours back home sometime in the middle of the night. They got a few hours into the trip when they got into a head on crash with a cop who was driving to work, which ended up killing the cop. They were probably sober, but fatigued-- I think the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. So, if you've been partying, or are tired, it's probably not a good idea to drive, period.

Maybe if you pounded them all back at once. If you spread that over a couple hours, that's nothing, especially for a regular drinker. You have to try pretty hard to get drunk on light beer, especially American light beer; you pee most of it out as fast as you consume it.
