My samsung plasma do not like the snes with or without the xrgb-3 but my 2 lcds are fine with it. It is probably the samsung causing this. I thought something was up with my snes but it works on all displays except my samsung plasma I get image jumping. Like bad sync every few secs.
I've tried now to frame lock off, first was to on

the image is more stable, no wave

but there are always the black screen sometimes

I want to try all on another TV, maybe a Panasonic, then decide what to do

For BuckoA51

I read on your site this about the firmware 1.6 of edge: "...the Edge may periodically blank the screen during play..."

This is the problem that I have now that sometimes screen goes black?

If yes, If I put firmware 1.51 on edge I can resolve?

Curious. Don't you mean a regular VGA cable?

The Edge doesn't have a DSub15 VGA input, so you have to use a VGA to 5xBNC/RCA breakout cable.

I tried DVDO EDGE -> SLG3000 but the edge ringing it's too much, I want to try an Xselect D4, but it's sold out everywhere

I don't see how a XSelect could help you.

Maybe you'd be happier with the picture if you disabled the Edge's 240p support recognition ? See this thread here: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 64#p681464

I don't really remember when the 240p recognition was introduced. Try the old FW which I posted before posting the zip collection.

Remember to get the quality of image I posted in the thread that Fudoh pointed you to, you will need to disable GAME MODE, thus increasing the delay.

But he can give it a try in gamemode as well. Especially with the SLG3000 behind it. He might like the smoothing better than the ringing.

I've tried early firmware with no success

Now I found the best settings for me, I don't know if is the best way, but now that I have it all a tried this

Neo geo -> XRGB-3 B1 mode no scanline -> DVDO EDGE -> SLG3000 scanline -> TV

no more black screen on play

You're saying that

Neo geo -> XRGB-3 B1 mode no scanline -> DVDO EDGE -> SLG3000 scanline -> TV

doesn't give you blackouts, while

Neo geo -> XRGB-3 B1 mode with scanlines -> DVDO EDGE -> TV

does ?

weird indeed.....

I have never known the emulated scanlines to cause problems, I think the problem is more down to the DVDO Edge sometimes freaking out at the slightly out of spec frequencies the XRGB3 feeds it. For example, I've never been able to get the Sega Master System converter or my PC Engine to work with the XRGB3->DVDO Edge without periodically having the screen blank. People have the same problem with the MVS too. Using CSYNC helps but doesn't always completely solve the problem.

I daresay your black screen will come back, sometimes it stays away for half an hour or more before rearing it's ugly head again.

BTW, When the screen blanks, the DVDO Edge's light flashes yes?
