Do you think Cave will put the Matsuri DLC up on the US marketplace eventually (like the Futari DLC)? I'd rather not be bothered to create a new account just to use it and then there's the trouble of dealing with transferring it over if I ever need to replace the system again.
Wouldn't hurt to ask them over Twitter or email, but IMO a JP account is nice to have around since you can also download demos for Japanese games and watch Hikari-chan scream like a banshee every time Asada makes her play something ridiculous.

I received mine yesterday and since it was sent out as part of NCSX's second batch I'm just glad I got a DLC card. While I'm enjoying the arrange modes, I'm kinda miffed about the port accuracy and the screen settings. I don't know what's possessed Cave that they feel that have to keep changing the style of their ports. It's aggravating to see the quality of their ports seemingly get worse and worse, with fewer and fewer options. If shit ain't broke, don't fix it. There was no need to change away from the way Futari, and for that matter Galuda 2, was configured. It just seems nonsensical to keep changing shit when you have what is essentially a perfect template to follow. And regardless of how good 1.01 and Arrange modes are, I wish the straight arcade ports were closer. It always seems like the enhanced port versions get less meaningful play and the high score boards don't see as much action and certainly do not have the longevity of the standard arcade modes.
Feedback will set you free.

Dangit mailman left me a note yesterday instead of leaving at the office in my complex....should get it today, and since its NCSX's second batch I am hoping that the DLC card is in there

Sorry if I am a neophyte, but why would that matter for TATE purposes? Does it look shitty in the resolution the ports put out in TATE or something?

You missed the part where he was worried about having to transfer the license to another system, which is a valid concern - on a system other than the one it was originally redeemed, it'll only work for the redeeming gamertag while connected to LIVE.

I didn't miss that. I said you don't "have" to transfer. So your going to miss out on the dlc because your afraid the console may break? Might as well not download anything. Whatever, to each their own.

I have three different region gamertags on mine and don't see any problem with getting dlc from any of them.

If you transfer the lisence to a new system, you don't need to be signed in to Live, but you do need the gamertag that originally redeemed the code to be signed in to the 360. If that gamertag isn't your main gamertag, then simply sign the gamertag that redeemed the code in on a 2nd controller as player 2. Problem solved.

If I want to tate these games and get the correct aspect even when enlarging the picture, what setting do I use? Do I have to change the resolution on my XBox?

Currently playing through my PC screen which is 1650x1080.

Thanks.
Assuming you have a flat panel monitor, I'm willing to bet you have either 1920x1080 or 1680x1050 - you shouldn't change this at all. The only thing you should need to change is the rotation of the display - the sizing should require no adjustment aside zooming it in to taste.
That stretches the picture which I don't like.

I've worked out the answer however. I now set the resolution on my XBox to its lowest (640 I believe) and then rotate the display in game. Works a treat.

Now I'm annoyed it came up, was planning to upgrade to a new style 360 when I can afford it...now I'm slightly hesitant to grab the DLC. I should probably just do it and deal with it I guess...is there no way to transfer it over to the new console so that the account doesn't need to be signed in?

On an unrelated note, is it just me or is the second boss of MMP really kind of alarmingly difficult...I'm far from amazing but I know my way around a shooter and have several 1ccs, yet that thing really gives me a lot of trouble.

Yeah, he's pretty tough for a second boss. I can navigate any of his patterns fairly easily, but the battle is just so long and there's so many of them that I end up dying at least once.

Sure there is. You can use the License migration tool to move the hardware license over to the new system. Then any account on that system can use it.

I'm quite sure this is untrue, because I've had to transfer licenses many times, and currently, all the games and DLC I bought on my American system (my 3rd one) all play without being on live after they're transferred.

He doesn't mean signed in to Live, he means signed-in on the console. As I said a few posts prior, if you transfer the lisence to a new system, you don't need to be signed in to Live to play, but you do need the gamertag that originally redeemed the code/bought the DLC to be signed in to the 360.

It means the game has borders left/right while rotated, making it basically impossible to play in tate.

Wait. Does this let you put it in TATE and then adjust the width and height independently like Futari and Galuda II do?

As noted, Microsoft has a License Migration Tool.. once a year you can transfer all you licenses to a new machine so that they will all behave as if bought on that machine. I've done it before (upgraded to an Elite a few years ago), it's a slight pain, but it works. I'm guessing you would be able to do it for any additional accounts on the system too (such as a main and a Japanese account) but I've never done that before and it would still be a hassle for one piece of DLC.

I'm assuming that all Cave has to do is add the DLC to the US/European marketplace (though I'm not 100% sure the codes would work, but they did for Futari's DLC card).

Anyway, I would suggest tweeting them about it, simply ask if they'll add the DLC to the US/EU marketplaces so we can use our codes. They have been responding to people about EOJ's PCB/360 differences report and they've passed that on to their 360 team to consider patching, so if a few more people other than me buzz them on this, maybe they'll take note.

What? I play in 640x480 and I'm playing fullscreen tate just fine.

No, you don't. I can load content I've migrated to my elite, offline, with a different account than I purchased it with. You have to sign on to the new console once, on LIVE, to redownload the license. Once it's down it's the same as if you'd originally downloaded it to that console.

I tried 640x and 1024x last night through VGA via a CRT monitor and had borders on both sides.

Elixir needs to alter his Guide to owning a Japanese 360 then:

My guide is correct.

Purchasing content with a gamertag allows all gamertags to access that content, but it's no longer shared once license transferred.

If you transfer licenses of content purchased from another console, only the purchaser's account may be used.

All other gamertags claim the game's a trial, such as Arcade games, or claim that the game can't be played, like "Games on Demand" titles.

As tested recently, a second gamertag can access the content providing the original owner's gamertag has signed in beforehand.

Colour me confused then, because njiska is claiming otherwise in his post.

tried all the game types, and i have to say muchi muchi pork arcade really stole my heart. It has wonderful personality, scoring is simple but fun, and i just enjoy the overall style of the game.

my only true gripe with Pink sweets are the bosses/enemies. Feels like im fighting duplo block enemies.

So I just tested this on my elite. Signing in with only my JP account, which has no licenses attached to it on that console. It seems a large number of my arcade titles are indeed showing up as trial. However some that have been moved are still showing full game. I was also able to use my BlazBlue DLC signed in with another account and it was originally purchase on my roommates 360. I have no explanation for why this is. maybe i've just gotten lucky. The bulk of the stuff appears to be lock to trial as you say.
