I don't much love the arrange mode, but that's ok, that could change later. I haven't had the bundle a week and I have been playing it sparingly but even so I've put more time into it than I have so far with DFK1.5. I was able to get to stage 5 on my second try with DFK, which is strange considering in pachi games that impossible for me

I'm loving the pork right now, still not good at it but I can consistently get rockin' before the first boss. I haven't watched any superplays because I don't want to find out how bad I am just yet.

Anyway, I still haven't cleared the 3rd boss in MMP yet but hopefully that will come soon.

While I hear a lot of dissing in regards to 1.5, playing MMP and PS for the first time last night, I think I prefer DFK BL to these although I should play more before making any assumptions....

I said the same thing. I like the scoring system so much I borrowed elements from it when I started making War on Bugs way back when...charlie chong wrote:i love shooters with simple scoring systems!
Yeah some people are trying to clown DFK 1.5, but not me. I think its a great game but I never got addicted to it. When I take the time to play I enjoy what I see, but I never feel inclined to try more than 2 credits a sitting. It could also have been that the autobomb made each credit last unnaturally long too. Not sure. Mostly because I don't like scoring in it, i'm a simple man.supergrafx77 wrote:While I hear a lot of dissing in regards to 1.5....

Yeah, I dunno what was up with people saying that a lot of Cave fans would be disappointed by this release. This is probably my favorite Cave release besides Futari. Muchi Muchi Pork is amazing, and, much to my surprise, Pink Sweets is just as good. I don't like vanilla Pink Sweets QUITE as much as Muchi Muchi Pork, but I do love the classic Raizing feel of it. I love rushing for medals, and I love just how many enemies get packed onto the screen at once. Pink Sweets Arrange might be the best thing on the disc, though. Reminds me a whole lot of Battle Bakraid.

Re: Pink Sweets & Muchi Muchi Pork bundle - Xbox 360!!!!!
the only thing i'm miffed about so far is the "wide mode" being turned off eating the menus alive on 4:3 and having to do a bunch of resizing to get shit to fit properly (set height and width to completely arbitrary amounts, and ingame set width to 133 and height to like 117, oy vey). works pretty much the same way guwange did, and it's kind of a pisser that there's no actual 4:3 option or 4:3 wallpapers and shit like that.

I think I need help with this.bcass wrote:It's not the same as Guwange pre or post patch. The Wide option in Guwange only works if your 360 dash is set to 4:3. In Sweets/Pork it works regardless of what your dash is set to.StarCreator wrote:It's apparently handled exactly the same way Guwange is post-patch - there's a "Wide Mode" option you have to turn off.dementia wrote:Out of curiosity, is 4:3 tate broken like in Guwange XBLA?
If I want to tate these games and get the correct aspect even when enlarging the picture, what setting do I use? Do I have to change the resolution on my XBox?
Currently playing through my PC screen which is 1650x1080.
Thanks.

...well, DFK BL is God like - plus it has the mighty Ketsuipachi. For me it's a completely different game from DFK 1.5.supergrafx77 wrote:While I hear a lot of dissing in regards to 1.5, playing MMP and PS for the first time last night, I think I prefer DFK BL to these although I should play more before making any assumptions....
I managed to double my score today on Pork by playing with the pink piggy - normally playing blue. Almost got to the end of stage 4 when I looked up and saw that I had 4 lives and had almost max rank, at which point my game completely went.
So I'm guessing anything over two spare lives isn't good - and get rid of any extra bombs. What a game.

Unless you plan on looping 1.00
I think I'll be sticking with 1.01 for MMP when I get the port due to the requirement for looping being just a 1cc. I might play some 1.00 too though. Pink Sweets I'll have to play both versions of to decide.

Totally agree with this man, and incredibly, Ketsupachi and DFKBL are also completely different games. Amazing when they've all got the same graphics and stage structures.dan76 wrote: ...well, DFK BL is God like - plus it has the mighty Ketsuipachi. The BL is available as a separate purchase at Play-Asia, right? Is it worth the asking price?Skykid wrote:Totally agree with this man, and incredibly, Ketsupachi and DFKBL are also completely different games. Another question:
People keep talking about versions 1.00 and 1.01. How do you access these? As I recall, the menu just says:
ARCADE
ARRANGE
etc.

Assuming you have a flat panel monitor, I'm willing to bet you have either 1920x1080 or 1680x1050 - you shouldn't change this at all. The only thing you should need to change is the rotation of the display - the sizing should require no adjustment aside zooming it in to taste.Tigershark wrote:I think I need help with this.

I think I can agree with alot of what's been said as far as DFK 1.5 goes. I beat that game (first loop anyway, dont have the patience to get all the bees) without really trying. Though, I think the 2 arrange modes on that disc totally made the whole thing worth it. And for those that didnt think 1.5 was quite enough, I strongly suggest getting Black Label as well; THAT version is bloody amazing, as is the Ketsupachi mode.agustusx wrote:I said the same thing. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway.
So, I've ended up liking Pink Sweets a bit more than MMP, much to my own surprise. Something about the gameplay just feels better overall. And that arrange mode is just amazing.
Are there any particular tricks to scoring in PS Arcade that I should know about? The whole thing seems fairly straight forward, but it cant hurt to ask. Oh, and what exactly produces the 1up? I've gotten it a few times now, and I have no idea what made it appear.
And one of these days I'll stop dying idiotically in stage 4. I do that in Arcade AND Arrange. Havent quite made it to the 4th boss yet, siiiiiiigh.

Total count of 2,500 items destroyed with shot (each item destroyed w/Rose Cracker subtracts 1 from the counter).-Bridget- wrote: Oh, and what exactly produces the 1up? I've gotten it a few times now, and I have no idea what made it appear.
And go ahead and spend a day practicing just Stage 4 if you're having that much trouble with it.
I'm being a hypocrite here, since I can't seem to make myself use save states and instead consign myself to just playing full runs and restarting over and over again even though that is ultimately very inefficient. Don't make my mistake.

just thought I would give MMP arrange mode a quick go post lunch, as its the one part of the package I have been neglecting, due to a bit of a meh first impression. Before i knew it a quick post lunch go turned into a 2 hour marathon (me sitting in front of a game for 2 hours in one go is very rare) and i found myself well and truly hooked. its definitely an oddball one, stark raving bonkers even
, but i am glad i gave it another go. Now to try and understand more of what the hell is going on in it

You guys should play pacman on Atari2600, then complain about arcade accuracy.

I know I SHOULD, but I almost never do, heh. I'm already stuck in the same bad habit as you, haha.
As it is though, Arrange mode must be a bit on the easy side; I made it to the 6th boss this time, with a score of over 120,000,000. I COULD have beaten that boss, too, but I rather made a total idiot of myself at the end.
The scoring system in that mode is such a blast. As with the rest of the modes in this package though, it can be frustrating. That seems to be a common thing with every part of both games here. As much as I'm enjoying these, they can frustrate me much easier than, say, DFK or Ketsui.

I do like PS arrange, but as has already been mentioned (I'm sure) its a bit easy...leading to 20 min runs every time. A bit hard on the old arms when you ghetto tate like me

So, for anybody that ordered through Play-Asia, what the hell is up with the little icon code on their mailing label?
Do you think Cave will put the Matsuri DLC up on the US marketplace eventually (like the Futari DLC)? I'd rather not be bothered to create a new account just to use it and then there's the trouble of dealing with transferring it over if I ever need to replace the system again.
